It shall be an honor to fall in with the PGR to honor CPL Guzman when the flight comes through.

"Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who biddest the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea."

--The Navy Hymn, played at funerals to honor Presidents
(Navy LT John F. Kennedy, Asst. SECNAV Franklin Roosevelt, recently LCDR Gerald R. Ford)--now respectfully offered to honor this shipmate of ours in the Navy-Marine Corps team.

Hopefully it's a comfort to family and friends to see how many "unknown" "strangers" fall in, in cyberspace and (those who are able) in person to render honors.

Also hopefully it's a comfort that this veteran's days were spent among some good friends. An admiral's send-off speech to us once observed: "there are two things of which you can be sure when you go to war: one, you will be changed, you will not be the same again and, two, you will form some of the best friendships of your life."

Soon after 9/11 we Americans got another example of the huge number of our unknown shipmates--when the German ship Lutjens drew alongside our USS Winston Churchill (DDG-81), respectfully flew our flag at half mast and exhibited a sign, "We support you."

"Like ships passing..." you family and friends of this veteran don't know most, or all, of us--but we're here with you.

"Fair winds and following seas," shipmate.
