Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom |

| As the Angels at the gates of Heaven stand at attention to welcome another HERO home my family and I also stand. Offering our condolences sometimes seems so shallow. But, again, we stand and salute in hopes that the knowledge we Honor your son PFC Adam Marion will perhaps help ease the pain of your loss.

My heart goes out to Adam's family and friends during this difficult time. This is my hardest posting thus far. Adam's roomate in Iraq is my son. I have spoken to him and they are dealing with his loss with the anticipated stages of grief we would expect. This is perhaps one of our best units we have deployed and they are truely professional and experienced combat veterans but still need your prayers. These are brave lads who stand for each other and the loss of Adam will be felt on each mission and all the quiet moments they can find. Like this fine family, they deserve nothing less than the greatest respect and honor you can bestow on them.
They are a band of brothers and one less today. This brotherhood will remain into eternity. Peace and blessings to the family of this great Soldier. "Sappers Lead the Way"

There is so ... so much I do not understand. 'Why' is THE question without answers. I'm so sorry for your loss. The only good reality is that ... HEROES go directly to heaven. I hope YOU know that when we go to heaven we will not be looking back. Because HEAVEN is the reward!!!!!

| Today was an extremely emotional day for me..was my first escort from airport to city. Unlike just standing in the flag line, the feeling is TOTALLY different, I can truly understand the emotions that Pfc Marions Family and friends are going thru today and for a while to come. It was an extrmeme honor to escort this young Soldier to his home town. It really got to me once we hit 52 out of WS and not one solitary car passed the funeral procession..unlike I-40 crazies, there must have been atleast 4 miles of traffic, just calmly following the funeral procession. Once we got closer to Surry county individuals actually stopped there cars on the opposite side of the road and got out of there vehicles and stood with hands over their hearts. ALL the LEO deserve a heartfelt THANK YOU for the way they escorted us slowly and methodically thru the routes. Upon entering Surry County more people were observing from overpasses and on&off ramps and at businesses, choked me up. And OMG the citizens of Dobson..I think 75% of the town turned out to line the streets and showed their support for this young man and his family.Seeing this brought tears to my eyes, and really got to me, As a gentlemen (sorry really bad with names) reminded me, he said thats what the foam around your riding glasses are for, to soak up the tears, and it really works.
it was an EXTREME HONOR and a PRIVILEDGE to ride for this young man and his family. May God meet you with open arms and bless your family.
Thank you for your service for this county and it's people. |
