Thank you, Pfc. John T. Bishop
Our thoughts and prayers go out to John, his family and friends. May God help comfort you as he holds your son in his loving arms. He has made a great sacrifice for us all so we can go on about our every day living here in the land of the free. Thank you John for providing such a special gift to us all, OUR FREEDOM. My heart aches just as it did when we lost our son (Greg) on 11-09-06. Although I never met John, I am proud to call him son.
Thank you and God bless you John.
Proud parents of SSG Gregory William Guy McCoy 410th MP Co KIA 11-09-06 Baghdad, Iraq

NEVER FORGET those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those who have fought, and those who continue to fight for OUR FREEDOM.

RIDE REPORT, PART ONE: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED- What started as a cold, wet day in Northern Michigan, turned out to be cool and dry. We had 21 Patriots who were able to stand the flag line with us today. Mailman and I arrived early and placed small American Flags along the driveway entrance. We had 5 Patriots at the ready when Pfc. Bishop arrived from the Nelson Funeral Home. Everyone else arrived in time to form the flag line at the entrance to the church for the family and guests to arrive. Pfc. Bishop's half-brother, Staff Sgt. John Tye, walked the flag line before the service and graciously thanked everyone for being there. Staff Sgt. Tye was deployed on his second tour in Iraq when he was sent home for his brother's funeral.
Rev. James Mathis officiated the service. Several family members got up and spoke some very heartfelt words on their hero. Military Honors were rendered outside the church. Several fire trucks had arrived during the service to pay their respects to Pfc. Bishop and his family. One with a huge American Flag on the ladder. We reformed the flag line down the driveway as we paid our final respects to Pfc. Bishop. Our hero left, along with family and friends and 5 of our riders to make the trip to the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
I would like to thank the family of Pfc. John Bishop for allowing us to be there to honor their hero today. They will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
The following is from the memorial card at the service. Written be Patricia Krull.
"Don't weep for me, O'land of the free, When it was my time to fall Twas for my country's call Twas for the land that I loved That I gave my all, And for the land that I loved I did freely give, And in her freedom and her courage I'll continue to live."
