Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of  Sgt Merlin German, USMC Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Merlin.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Mission Report Phase two: I arrived at the funeral home a bit later than I previously planned due to a last minute time change Late last night. Several members were already there, and others were riding in, we had a total of 28 bikes and 1 cage, good turnout for midweek.
Brief was as scheduled, discussed changes to the mission, and set the flag line. Several Marine Commisioned Officers, Marine Non Commisioned Officers, and Civilian employees from Brooke Army Medical Center were there, each expressed their gratitude to the PGR for showing our respects. Several patients from the burn center were also there.
This was not a normal service, it was a gathering of the family, an ultimate chance for them to be together with Sgt. German.
The procession to FNC was short and uneventful, we arrived to find several members of the Marine Corps League standing the perimeter. The Marine Firing Squad and Bugler were in place. A Marine 3 Star General, his Aide, and other Marines were at the service to honor this young Marine.

Today, after a long hard battle, Sgt. Merlin German was retired to his final resting place . God Bless you Marine. Semper Fi !

My Thanks to all my PGR Brothers and Sisters for all that you do, and for being there today. It's an Honor for me to know you.

EXTREMELY SHORT NOTICE!!! Memorial tonight in Hartsdale for fallen Marine Sgt. Merlin German

There is a memorial service planned for Sgt. Melvin German tonight. The service for Sgt. German is a public event and all are welcome. We are invited to the memorial service this evening! I spoke with the organizers of the service and they would be delighted to have the PGR participate. There will be family members in attendance also. Please make every effort to attend if you can!

Please see http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080501/NEWS02/805010563/-1/rss01 and http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008805020402 for information about this remarkable Marine.

The memorial service is today, Friday, May 2 at 7:00 PM at the Woodlands High School in Hartsdale, NY.

If you can make it, please plan to stage at the Hartsdale train station (Exit 15 off the Bronx River Pkwy northbound, Exit 16, from the southbound side) at 6:15 PM. KSU will be at 6:40 PM (it's only 5 minutes from the station to the high school!)

Please let me know if you can make it. It would be great to have a good turn out for this exceptional young man who grew up right here in Westchester. (Sgt. German was buried in April in Florida with the participation of the PGR as escort.) Again, please let me know ASAP if you can be there this evening.
