SGT Ault,

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sgt. Jesse A. Ault. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Jesse.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero who stood tall for his homeland during this very sad time in your lives, but remember that you knew a hero first hand while the rest of us just get to hear about their heroic deeds. My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a debt that can never be repaid. But please know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. Know that it says in the Bible in 2nd Corinthians 5:8 , we are confident I say , willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the LORD. No one can ever say that your loved one isn't a HERO, they were willing to serve that the rest of us may enjoy the freedom we do today, and the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. May GOD Bless each and everyone of you.

This two-part mission (Pulaski/Dublin) has been successfully completed.

Part 1: Visitation

PGR was invited to stand flag honors for Jesse, family and friends during the 5-8 PM visitation. We had roughly 30 patriots stand in his honor. PGR members from Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee were all present. It was truly an inspiration to see members cross borders to honor this hero who gave his all. Wife Betsie, who also served in Iraq, made a point of coming out and shaking the hand of each member of PGR who took their time to stand for Jesse. It was clear during this visitation time that Jesse was deeply missed by his community. Weather was overcast, misty, rainy at times, but this did not deter patriots from riding the horses and standing in the rain. As one said (speaking for many) “I won’t melt”. Our service is that simple…yet that profound.

Part 2: Funeral and Interment

PGR was again very well represented as family and friends gathered for the funeral service and interment of Jesse. We had roughly 70 bikes and 80 people showed up for this second day of honoring. We all stood in Jesse’s honor as friends and family arrived for the service. A small group of PGR members then went immediately to the cemetery to provide flag line for the arrival of the escort. We had approximately 62 bikes escort Jesse and family to the cemetery. As graveside services transpired, PGR formed a safety ring around the area. We stood in silent honor as the very emotional events took place graveside. Full military honors were rendered. The weather threatened throughout but was only a minor nuisance.

It should be noted that, again, we had PGR members from four states (NC, WV, TN, and VA). We had several other motorcycle groups join us. These included AMVETS, Rolling Thunder, UAW, CMA, Bikers for Christ, Second Brigade, PGR and others… (forgive me if I have forgotten any).

This was my largest mission to Captain. I wish to thank ALL of the experienced Ride Captains in attendance that provided assistance. Those guests in attendance were moved by our presence. I am humbled by this service that we provide. I am further convinced that a power greater than ourselves is at work in honor of our heroes… Bless you all for stepping up for SSgt. Jesse A. Ault.

Respectfully Submitted,

   Current weather forecast for the area is calling for a 30% chance of showers, after midnight tonight, with lows expected to be in the lower 50's.  Tomorrow's forecast is for cloudy skies with a 50% chance of showers and temperatures in the lower 70's.

   PLEASE, do NOT let the weather be a determining factor in your attendance at this Memorial Mission for Jesse.  Although bikes would be nice, travelling by cage is more than welcomed.  What is requested more than anything is YOU, with your flags to show this family just how much West Virginia honors their own.

   In speaking with Jesse's Father yesterday, he advises the service could last in excess of one hour as there will be a few speakers and a DVD presentation made.  There will also be a presentation made to the family by the Governor of West Virginia or his representative.  We will also be presenting a PGR plaque to both his Father and his Mother.  Time for this presentation will be done when the family wishes and will not be known until tomorrow.

   We look forward to seeing all who are able to stand in silent tribute to SSGT Jesse Ault and his family.

   All please travel safely.
Respects,
Joe

***************MISSION ACCOMPLISHED*****************

   On what had been forecast to be a very cloudy, rainy day, 10 PGR members, joined by 8 American Legion Riders from AL Post 67 in Sistersville, WV, met at Lucy's Restaurant under bright, sunny skies to prepare to pay Honor and Respect to West Virginia native son, SSGT Jesse Ault of Middlebourne.  While waiting for our scheduled departure, we were met by Jesse's Father, Ron, and later by his Mother, Ginny, as they stopped to thank all of us for what we were doing today as well as what was done for Jesse in Virginia last weekend.

   As we arrived at Tyler Consolidated High School, we took our place outside the entrance to the auditorium and maintained a silent vigil as, literally, scores of people arrived to attend these services.

   Just prior to commencement of the Memorial Service, Ron Jones and I, accompanied by our, soon to be new "official" PGR member, Fred Turner, a member of the WV National Guard, and Russell Weekley, ALR from Sistersville, entered the auditorium to present the PGR plaque to both Ron and Ginny, along with a copy of the mission thread from our site.  Although I had been told by a member of the Governor's staff that either he or his representative would be in attendance to present their proclamation of Jesse's service and sacrifice, along with the West Virginia State flag that was flying over the Capitol building on the day of his funeral services, we learned that only the proclamation was given at some time prior to our presentation of the plaques.  Reports are the flag will be shipped to Betsie Ault, Jesse's wife.

   After presentation of the plaques was completed, we quietly departed the area as storms were, seemingly, rapidly approaching.

   My sincere "Thank You" to all PGR members in attendance today.  Some travelled great distances as one couple journeyed down from Youngstown, OH to pay their respects to Jesse and his family.  An added "Thank You" is extended to all those members of American Legion Post 67 in Sistersville, not only for their assistance to us today but also in the very respectful manner in which they stood our flag line.  My hat is off to all of you who were present today.

   This mission, for the PGR, was quite extensive in that it encompassed two states over an extended period of time.  Without the close working relationship we have with our friends to the South, especially Tony Turner, Virginia SC, and Jim (Borlo) Borling, VA RC for the Virginia portion, this mission could  not have been accomplished.  Thank you to them and to each person who stood the flag line in Virginia last weekend.

   Finally, although Jesse was not physically present today, it was very evident the love that was felt for him by his family, classmates, friends and the surrounding communities.  While our presence today, and last week, cannot alter the tragedy itself, the Honor and Respect that has been shown this family over the past couple of weeks did NOT go unnoticed by anyone.

   Thank you for what you do.
Respects,
Joe
