To the Carbonaro family:

Thank you for the privilege and solemn honor you provided for my fellow Patriot Guard Riders and I on this sorrowful day. From what I saw today, Alex was blessed with many loving friends and a strong family.

This was my very first PGR mission, and it was deeply moving for me. It truly was an honor for me to show my respect and honor to you and your hero, Alex who so richly deserved it. He gave his all for our freedom – which is “never given, only earned”; and I, for one, shall never forget that. He will have a place in my memory in the days to come. I pray that God will bless your family and Alex’s soul.

To my fellow PGR riders:

Thank you all for the camaraderie and fellowship this day. We are making history, somehow preventing the dark history of years past to never be repeated. I am very proud to be a part of it all, and proud to have served side by side with each and every one of you today. For the State, Area, and Ride captains - you guys kept things well organized, and kickstands up times were well adhered to. Kudos to all of you, great job, very impressive. You have the right attitudes to keep this organization soaring with the Eagles.

Until next time – be safe.

My brother SSgt Ken Gero was a close friend of Alessandro (Alex). Ken was asked to be one of the Marines to escort Alex to his final resting place by Alex's wife Gilda. He said that the ceremony was beautiful and he was just amazed by the amount of Patriot Riders that turned out to make sure this fallen Marine and his family had nothing but respect on this sad day. I had never met Alex but have heard alot about him from Ken. He definitely was a true American hero and a dedicated Marine.

Thank you for being there for them...

THIS IS THE FINAL MISSION REPORT FOR MARINE SGT CARBONARO, MAY 23, 2006 AT THE NATIONAL CATHEDRAL AND ESCORT TO ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETARY.

We had a 0810 rally point at Texaco Gas station on the corner of 355 and Elm St.
18 bikes and 21 personnel attended.
Bikes departed rally point and arrived en-mass at the National Cathedral for corridor of flags and to pay respects.
SGT Carbonaro's mother is a teacher at the school co-located at the National Cathedral, so all of the children and teachers came out to thank the PGR for what we were doing.
Upon completion of the services, Richard Beckwell and Karyn Shumaker presented the Gold Star flag to Mrs. Carbonaro.  This flag is donated to all of the Md missions by the Disney-Bell American Legion Post.  The plaque was presented by State Captain Bob Bell.
Police escorted the funeral party through the DC area to ANC.  PGR followed the family car and showed tremendous respect and dedication.
Upon arrival at ANC PGR stood outside in a holding pattern and waited to follow family to grave site.
PGR attended services at grave site and rendere appropriate honors at appropriate times.

It is an honor to serve this American Hero with a group of true Patriots such as the PGR.

Farewell SGT Caronaro, and may God wrap his loving arms around you and welcome you home.
