My condolences to the Maupin family. I know this isn't the outcome that you hoped for but Matt served proudly and he will remain in our hearsts forever. He is and American hero and is now blessed with the gift of eternal life in Gods great heaven. Thank you Matt for your service and for leading the way. May God be with you and may he be with Keith and Caroline at this difficult time. Peace be with you.

Stand proud my soldier

For my armed forces I proudly stand, thankful for their sacrifice flag in hand.
They gave their life so mine could be free, they held the line just for me.
Their lives were given for God and country, not for the glory or for the money.
Their shift was long and their pay was short, they proudly stand now in Gods court.
He smiles upon them and takes their hand, at attention in heaven they proudly stand.
You’ve done your job and I ask you in, at ease my soldier you’re now among friends.
Here above you can watch and see, that old glory still fly’s and your country is free.
So many like you are here and their lives they gave, so their family’s can be free and your flag can wave.
There is a flag draped coffin just for you, the colors upon it are red, white, and blue.
For awhile your family may take it hard, but for you and for them stand the Patriot Guard.

It is with a heavy heart and tears that I extend my sincerest and deepest condolences to the family and friends of Sgt Maupin. I never had the honor of meeting any of you but feel as if I know you from following the news on Sgt Maupin. It's difficult to find the words to express my gratitude for Matt's bravery and sacrifice. I wish I could stand the flag line to honor your young Hero. I will be there in my heart and will keep all of you and Micah close in thought and prayer always. Rest in peace Sgt Maupin and God Bless

Thank you, SSG Keith Matthew Maupin for your service to this Nation. It is because of Patriots such as you that I, my family, and the rest of this great Nation are able to lead the lives we do. It is the soldier that gives us freedom, not the politicians. Only two people ever died for our freedoms. One was Jesus Christ and the other was the American Soldier. The least I can do is pay homage and respect to this Hero and his family.
To the family of this American Hero: We as a Nation grieve with you in the loss of one of our Nation’s best. His adherence to “Duty to God and Country” will not be forgotten. Death is a time to rejoice in the life someone had and the lives they touched on this earth. Life is but a blink of an eye. May the Great Architect take this Hero and his family into his council, protect and heal them.

You don't have to love war, but you do have to love the Warrior!
The sound of 200 people holding flags -- is deafening.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of this news... I was praying for a happier outcome... I am thankful that they are able to bring Matt home and he can rest in peace, but I am so very sad ~ I can't put it into words. Every day since the day he was captured, we've prayed for him. I wore a pin/button on my coat that has his photograph on it... frequently, people would ask me about it and I'd tell them about Matt. Last May, when I was fortunate enough to go to Washington, DC, I bought a POW/MIA bracelet and it has never left my arm since the minute I bought it. All that to say, he's been a part of my daily life for the past four years... his loss HURTS and my heart truly goes out to his family and friends. Please know that you remain in our hearts & prayers..... we love you and grieve with you.

Luv to all,

There's not a lot I can say that has not already been said. But Today, I can say that I feel sadness in my heart for Matt, his Family, the Patriot Guard Riders who have held on to hope these many years and for America. Someday, if I make it to Paradise, I hope to shake Matt's hand and give him a snappy salute. The Andrews Family will be praying for the Maupins, and from my Family to yours and to everyone who reads this post, God Bless you, the United States Army and the United States of America.

Not the homecoming that we had all hoped beyond hope that we would be able to have, but a homecoming.

My heart goes out to Keith, Carolyn, Micah and all of Matt's family and friends. May God comfort all of them. Let's step up patriots and ensure that the Maupins and Matt know beyond any doubt the gratitude we have for his service and the respect we have for them for their dignity in bearing such a terrible burden these long years.

We look forward to your return Matt. If only it could have been a happier event...
