YN1 Patrick Quinn; Thank you Sir for your service to this country. You, and many like you are the reason for being named the Greatest Generation.
To Lt Gov.Patrick Quinn and family. Thank you for giving us the priviledge of honoring your father as you have honored so many sons and daughters of this great state who have gave their all.

Final Report for YN1 Patrick “P.J.” Quinn- USN Honor Mission 26 FEB 08.
Everyone who lives in the state of Illinois knows that our Lt. Governor Pat Quinn works tirelessly for the young men and women serving in our military. He attends funerals for servicemen (even attending one on the morning of his father’s visitation) he honors veterans and champions initiatives that benefit all who have served and those who are still serving. He is also a good friend of the Patriot Guard Riders. When his father passed away last Saturday, he invited the PGR to participate in honoring “P.J.” Quinn, a WWII vet.
This mission was arranged overnight. There were two other PGR missions in our area the same day, the Bitton KIA mission and the Dorosz Honor mission. Northern Illinois PGR members were able to cover all three missions.
Various dignitaries from the political world and many old friends of the Quinn family filed in and out of the funeral home. One most distinguished visitor was Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Sammy L. Davis. Sgt. Davis who earned his Medal of Honor in Viet Nam thanked each PGR member for their service before he entered the funeral home. We were all humbled by his graciousness.
As the visitation ended, we filed into the chapel to honor “P.J” and to offer our condolences to Lt. Governor Quinn and his family.
Thank you to all the PGR members who supported this mission, even after attending the other two on the same day. Thanks to Cpl. Don Haines for providing the flags and to Fred Vukadinovic and Capt. Steve Morgan for taking the second portion of the mission on Wednesday.

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.
