state facilities fly the United States flag and the State flag at
half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of the funeral of every
fallen Illinois resident serving in the U.S. Armed Forces who is killed

My deepest sympathy to the family of MSgt. Thomas A. Crowell. I appreciate all of his contributions to our country and may there be a special place for him in heaven. He gave his 'all' so young. He has joined the ranks of heroes and I love him for that. He is America's son, and I am an American. That makes him partly my loss too. I will never forget.
