Cpt McGovern you are truly appreciated. I know you have been welcomed at the gates of heaven by all our fallen warriors who have gone before you. Rest easy now, Timothy...you will not be forgotten.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom

Email from Tim Cahill - his computer at work is acting up...
I'm leaving Kokomo Friday Nov 9th @ 0700 for Capt McGovern's Mission in Monticello.
If it's not too late I intend to go directly from the Idaville cemetery to Marion for the Veterans Parade at the VA. It'll be a fast cold ride! 75 min to 60 min if I can get going. Anyone wanting to ride along for all or part of this express ride let me know. My cell: 765-210-1604 Tim Cahill

I can not be there Friday but my thoughts and prayers are with Cpt McGovern's family and friends.

May all who are honoring this hero have a safe ride.

America, Home of the Free BECAUSE of the BRAVE!

The following poem was written by my Great-Grandmother during WWII. Three of my Great-Uncles served in the Air Corps:

Three stars I hold before me
Three service stars of blue
Elmer first, then our Bill,
And now Jerome went too.

They are all in the Air Corps,
These flying sons of mine,
Wives and mothers all must wait,
Until they serve their time.

They meant three loving sons to me,
Though they weren’t really mine,
God only loaned them to me
To help them serve their time.

But home was really happy,
For each loved each, you see–
Til I loaned them to this our land,
As God loaned them to me.

They’re safe in His keeping,
He loves them just as dear,
As I could ever love them,
Were I to have them here.

And when the whole world honors,
The God who is kind and true,
I’ll take my sons and give them back–
Three service stars of blue.

It was an Honor to meet the McGovern family tonight at the services. Monticello adds another service member to it's list of HERO'S. My family and fellow Guard Riders will pray that God continues to grant you the peace that you displayed so magnificantly this evening. It is settling to know that those responsible for Tim's death were caught so quickly. Thank you for raising a son that believed in our country and freedoms. John & Carri
