I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero who stood tall for his homeland in this very sad time in your lives, but remember that you knew a hero first hand while the rest of us just get to hear about their heroic deeds. My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a dept that can never be repaid. But please know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. Know that it says in the Bible in 2nd Corinthians 5:8 , we are confident I say , willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the LORD. No one can ever say that your loved one isn't a HERO, they were willing to serve that the rest of us may enjoy the freedom we do today, and the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. May GOD Bless each and everyone of you.

To Spc. Micheal D. Brown,
A great man once said, "Poor is the Nation that has no Heroes, Shameful is the one that, having them, Forgets". We will never forget the duty, service, honor, faithfulness and sacrifice you have given to our nation. You are now in the great cloud of witnesses cheering us on. We will not falter, We will not fail, We will not weaken.

To the family of Micheal Brown,
I pray that our heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. (Lincoln to Mrs. Bixby 21 Nov 1864). We will continually be praying for your family at our church. God is strengthening you.

Escort Mission Report:

Spc. Micheal D. Brown, 20, Williamsburg, KS, 24 OCT 07

The Ride Captain on this mission was Steamer with assistance from NacNac at the funeral home. Nice job Gentlemen!!!

We met early in the evening at the KCI control tower and it was nice to see so many old friends. We really do have quite a “Band of Brothers and Sisters!”

Steamer conducted his staging briefing by making sure all newbies were welcome, stressed safety, logistics and then we had a prayer by Bosco. We sent four bikes; Steamer, Bull, 8Ball and Jimbo, with big flags to meet the hearse with the flag draped casket with the assistance of KCI Security. Spc. Micheal D. Brown remains were flown in on a commercial aircraft.

While the four bikes were off to meet and escort the hearse back to the control tower, we lined the bikes in formation to be ready to go once the hearse arrived.
Totally, we had fifty-two bikes for the escort. Once again, KCI security did a wonderful job in assisting us and as always it is appreciated.

Pat, on a police escort bike with lights flashing took the lead and blocked on the highway for us and we had LEO escorts for as long as each were allowed to go southbound.

At the Johnson County line we were met by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department; on motorcycle Eddy Baker and in a cruiser Bob Hamilton. They did a wonderful job of escorting us all of the way thru Johnson County and thru the northern part of Miami County to Ottawa, Kansas. At the county line, shortly after dusk, two patrol cars from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department were on each side of the highway with their light flashing. Outside of each vehicle, beside the highway, each officer was standing at a full flag salute in honor of Spc. Micheal D. Brown. They held their salute for the entire mile long procession. They kept their lights flashing until we could no longer be seen. Needless to say the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department did a tremendous job in supporting our efforts to honor this fallen soldier.

As we traveled, I was in contact to NacNac to let him know where the procession was, as he was at the funeral home with several other Patriot Guards with flags in support of this mission.

Upon arrival to the funeral home, from my point it appeared as though the Patriot Guard were the honor guard to remove the flag draped casket from the hearse to the funeral home.

Steamer had a quick meeting to thank all for their attendance and to tell us that it was time for us to allow the family to spend time with their loved one. Once again, he asked Bosco to lead us in a prayer and then we were dismissed.

To the of family of Spc. Micheal D. Brown, thanks for inviting us, to allow us the honor of escorting your loved one and our American Soldier to his hometown.

To Spc. Micheal D. Brown, we want to thank you for your devoted service and sacrifice for our country.

I will be leaving the Pittsburg(Arma) area, tomorrow around 4 pm. I'll be on the bike this time. It's about 110 miles to Ottawa. Will travel up 69 to 54, take 54 to Moran, then 59 North to Ottawa. Will probably make a comfort stop at Moran.
Anyone know a good way into the Funeral home off of 59 hwy? Looks like straight through town to me.
See you there.

hi there stretchnit, since it looks as though nobody else has had a chance to reply, i'll fill you in on how to get to dengel&sons mortuary from 59.  just keep heading straight north, once you hit ottawa's south end of town-the walmart, fast food places, motels, etc; you will go through them, then about 7-8 blocks of pretty much residential, then you'll be coming in to ottawa's downtown area.  once you get to 4th&main(also 59 hiway), you'll see a big old courthouse building on your right; proceed one more block, to 3rd street, and hang a right turn.  one block east, and dengel&sons sits on the northeast corner of that 4-way stop intersection.  they have a huge parking lot available just to the north of the funeral home.

sure hope this helps; am praying for safe travel for everybody coming. see you there.
