| I want to add a note to this mission before it disappears into the archives. I was extremely proud of everyone who was there and helped with this mission. We had riders come from 5 states to help honor Zachary Tomczak. Everything from the coffee supplied by ABATE, the doughnuts and water from WalMart, the excellant professionalism of the Huron Police, Beadle Sheriffs Office and SD State Hwy Patrol was without reproach. All of our members were willing to do whatever it took to make this mission a success. I believe it was. We formed up on time, rode our routes, took our positions with precision, stood tall with our flags. To those of you who stood the advance flag line at the cemetary, you did an absolutely awesome job! Approaching the cemetary, we could see the red, white and blue showing between the trees and it was a fantastic site. I hope you could hear me praising you as we rode down the flag line in front of the hearse. When I spoke with Beth Tomczak later, she expressed her praise and amazement at what the members of the PGR do. I tried to explain to her that it was us thanking her and Zachs family for allowing us to be there to help honor Zach. I want to also thank members of ABATE, Rolling Thunder and any other groups who were there to participate in this mission. You are always welcome to ride with us. Your hearts and minds are with us and you stood proud along with us. Thank you for being there. When I view the pictures I took, I will find somewhere to post them where you can all view them. As best I could count, I believe we had about 65 bikes there plus some cages. I think about 75 people in all. For a weekday with some blustery wind, that was a good turnout. You can all stand proud of what you did on Oct 3. It was a mission well accomplished. |
