It is with a a heart felt tear that I shed for the family of all the fallen and especially for the Patton family. I have escorted a young hero home, and met the family members. I wish that pain upon nobody. I thank the family for standing by your soldier and grieve with you. A member lost effects all of that unit forever, his memory will last eternally. A fallen hero is grieved by all that owes a lifetime of thanks. Truly, freedom is not free. God bless the heroes and the families they leave behind.

I would like convey my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this American hero who stood tall for their homeland. I know this is a very sad time in your lives but remember you knew a hero first hand the rest of us just get to hear about him. Please know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our Lord and Savior in heaven and the Lord said if I go to prepare a place for you,and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. Know that it says in the Bible in 2nd Corinthians 5:8 ,We are confident I say, willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. No one can ever say that your loved one isn't a hero because not just me but a country full of Americans are free because of the sacrifice they made in the name of freedom. May God Bless each and everyone of you

You are so appreciated, Spc Patton. Heaven seems to be needing more and more heroes. I know you were welcomed there by all our fallen warriors who have gone before you. Rest easy, Christopher....you will not be forgotten here.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom
