To Family and Friends of Sgt. Shawn G. Adams we feel the pain that you feel it may not be the same, as we all feel  it in differnt ways and at different times. Our sons are together now standing Guard at the Gates of Heaven. Please email us if you need anything at all we lost our son in April in Iraq and understand the need to have someone to talk to who have been there.

Soldier”

Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go.

Partial Mission Report (Travis AFB to Funeral Home): US Army SGT Shawn Adams, remains arriving Travis AFB, 08/01/07 for escort to funeral home. We arrived at Travis AFB Main Gate at 1030am and parked behind the hearse who was waiting for escort to the flight line. I checked in with the CAO and the Air Force Police escort. Three other PG Riders arrived, along with the Family of SGT Adams, We met and exchanged condolences with the Widow, Mother, Stepfather, Grandfather, and Family members. They were thankful that the PGR was there to honor SGT Adams and the Family. The Air Police escorted the procession to the flightline where we formed a flag line, and awaited the arrival of the airplane. I called the ride captain who was waiting at the Armory and found that there were several PG Riders waiting. The plane arrived, we formed a flag line and saluted the deceased while offloading and placing into the hearse. We then escorted the procession off the base, where the remaining PG Riders joined up and we rode to Vacaville and the Funeral Home. Once at the funeral home we formed a flag line and saluted while the American Hero SGT Shawn G. Adams body was transferred into the funeral home. 16 PG Riders participated in todays mission. Next Service will be Saturday at St Mary's Catholic Church. Submitted 8/01/07 Bill Hawkins

It was truly an honor to be the RC on this mission. We had approx 64 bikes show up at the funeral home and then we escorted the Hearst to the Church were another 11 bikes or so arrived. We formed a flag line for Sgt Adams and the Family into the church and then another flag line after the service. The Vacaville Police provided the escort to the National cemetery and with 2 flagged bikes in front the Hearst next and then 2 limos with family and then 73 bikes and then friends it made for quite a procession to the cemetery. It felt like the whole town showed up to say good buy to one their finest young men. The VFW, Calif Honor Guard, lots of police and of course the Army Personnel including a General were there to pay their respects. God Bless you Sgt Adams, thank you for your sacrifice and your service to our country.

Shawn's memorial service was held at FOB Kalsu back on the 28th of July. The event was emblematic of a hero's homage. No one in attendance could deny that the unit had lost a crucial part of it's strength and spirit in just one soldier. We will meet again and hopefully it's setting will be a more serene environment than the day we lost you. All the men and women of this unit are appreciative for PGR serving as the buffer between the grieving families and a public that seem to be contemplate the senselessness of this war. Although we are all entitled to express our thoughts and feelings the way we wish it is another thing to picket a fallen soldier's funeral. Keep doing your thing and thanks for putting it upon yourselves for providing such an inspiring human service.
