Rest your head
Oh weary son
Your watch on earth
Now is done

In a land far away
you went to war
To keep the evil
From our shore

Staying on course
Always standing tall
Protecting our land
You gave your all

Blessed are those
That battle for right
For GOD has said
You are HEROS in HIS sight

Your honor and pride
Stood tall all the way
And now you have come
To the end of your day

Your watch is over
PGR will take it from here
With all the respect
We stand for so dear

You will ride in our hearts
Down the FLAG filled road
Thank you, BRAVE WARRIOR
You carried our load

Protecting us all
By both day and night
Never once flinching
In the heat of the fight

As we ride for you now
Our hearts filled with sorrow
Never to forget you
For all of the tomorrows

When the bugle plays TAPS
And the rifles will sound
Our eyes will be full
Our tears on the ground

You will be missed
By ones never met
You are our HERO
We will never forget

GOD BLESS OUR MIGHTY AND VIGILANT MILITARY. SECOND TO NONE. BECAUSE OF THEM WE ARE STILL FREE.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of 1st Lt. Christopher N. Rutherford. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Christopher.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.

In Memory of Jon Dreymann 08-13-09 WWR NRC Who left us way too soon. Farvel min venn.

Somehow it never hits home until it really hits home. I work with close friends of this lad, and I assure you all, he was both liked and loved. My condolences to his family, friends, and the entire area that he touched with his shortened life. Since I can do no more, I will proudly stand for you as requested. Godspeed Sir.

I know what you mean about it hitting home!  This young 1LT was my brothers Platoon Leader.  As his Platoon Sergeant my brother had to honor of speaking at his memorial in Iraq.  I was on my way home from another memorial service when I my sister called with the news.

To the family, friends and soldiers of 1LT Rutherford I send my deepest condolences.  Stand easy Bro we have your back.

Itinerary Up Date

1st LT Christopher N Rutherford, 25, Newport, OH

Rally location at 4:00PM:

Frontier High School, 44870 State Route 7, New Matamoras, OH 45767

We will have a mission briefing at 4:15 and be in the flag line at 4:30PM.

Services: Frontier High School
12 July 2007@ 1730hrs (5:30pm)

Located on SR 7 17 miles North of Marietta, Ohio. The school is on the riverside of the road directly on RT 7; difficult to miss when you go by.

Interment: Immediately following the Service at East Lawn Memorial Park, 27880 SR 7, Marietta OH.

The cemetery is 16.5 miles south of Frontier High School just outside Marietta.

Speed limits are up to 55 MPH on SR 7. I expect the funeral procession will travel slower, however if you fly a flag on your vehicle please be sure it is well secured.

We will stand a flag line outside the school entry and ride in the funeral procession.

Final arrangements are still being made, so more details will be given at the mission briefing.

Make sure you bring proper clothing, water, and your 3x5 flags.

I hope we are able to have a large PGR turnout to honor our fallen hero. Please travel safely!

Rick and Bob,

The American Legion Riders of Post 389 in Beverly, Oh, would be proud to pay our respects to 1st Lt. Rutherford at the upcoming mission in New Mat. We are a newly established Riders Chapter and are not exactly sure of all protocol regarding PGR missions. I am a registered member of the PGR and  this will be my first mission. We plan on leaving Post 389 at 14:30 or so and making our way to the staging area. Questions that I do have are.

1. Do you have to have a 3x5 U.S. Flag to participate?
2. Do you have to have a U.S Flag on your scoot to ride in the escort?

We are planning on wearing our ALR black T-Shirts, is that proper attire? If not please advise.

Respectfully.

LT Rutherford, I salute you, sir, for your service to our country and the ultimate sacrifice you made helping to protect the freedom and liberties we have come to expect.  God has a special place reserved for you among the angels in Heaven.

May your family, friends and community find comfort in God's healing hands.  May they all be aware that while your time on earth has ended, you continue watching over each of them from your rightful place on God's right hand.

Stand at ease Lieutenant.  You have completed your tour of duty.

Will be proud to attend tomorrow's Mission of Honor, albeit in a cage.
Respects,
Joe

HERO's are made. Not born. CHRIS was a HERO.

Ride safe my brothers and sisters. I hope you all make a great turn out for this great man. I would love to be there but my plate is so full right now it is overflowing. My heart and my prayers will be there with you.
Take care of the KOOKS that are suppose to show up with their utter disgraceful actions.
