I would like to thank all who showed up for Sgt Parkers arrival back in Maine. We had around
15 bikes and several cages about 30 people in all. The line up was the State Police leading
then two PGR bikes with flags the coach with Sgt Parker then two more bikes with flags then
the honor guard and family then the rest of the PGR. The police did a great job keeping the
speeds down on the turnpike and we had a very safe trip from Augusta to Skohegan. According
to todays paper the family was very appreciative of our effort. I would also like to thank
Cruizer for all the work he is doing for this mission. Hope to see you all at the honor mission
on Tuesday.

Here is some information some of you may take into consideration. Gas and food are limited once you leave the farmington area. It would be good if some of you who are cagers could bring some water in coolers considering the temp. are going to be hot and humid.

Greetings Folks....

I hope this post does not create any confusion for anybody, but after reading the most recent posts, I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify just a couple of small, but very important points.

There are actually going to be two groups heading in seperate directions, but ultimately meeting at the High School.

There is a group of about six riders who have volunteered to go to Skowhegan on Tuesday to escort Sgt. Parker to the High School where the memorial service will be held.

The second group, which will be the larger of the two, will still meet at the Augusta Civic Center at 0930 (9:30am).
This group will actually arrive at the High School about one hour earlier than Sgt. Parker and the escort.

Ride safe.

26 Jun 2007 9:21 PM Alert
I have just returned from a beautiful area of Maine. The weather the last two days has been fantastic. Warm gentle breeze , sunshine and yes some humidity. Since I had not been involved with a honor mission before I just did not know quite what to expect or how things worked. However, standing by my husband as he and Cruiser planned the mission I only hoped things would turn out the way they wanted it to. So I thank you Don and my husband John for a beautiful mission. When I first met the Funeral Directors all they could say was how impressive the escort was from the airport to Skowhegan and the family was very pleased with everything. On Monday John and I escorted Sgt. Parker from Skowhegan to Mt. Abram High School with the Military Personnel led by State Trooper Scott Nichols, again the family was pleased with the respect and care of their son's escort. On Tuesday, several PGR members met in the morning to escort Sgt. Parker to Mt. Abram High School. also included were several Sheriff's, State Troopers plus K9's led once again by State Trooper Nichols, (who adourned his Kilt as he played the bag pipes at the funeral and graveside service. ) As we left Skowhegan there were a wave of flags, bringing our American Hero to his service at Mt. Abram High School. The ride was thru beautiful country side, a few windy spots, but somewhat comforting. The family joined us in Phillips and we proceeded to the high School. Upon the arrival at the high school I looked over John's shoulder and saw yet another beautiful sight. Lots of Old Glory waving in the breeze waiting to greet the escort. Goosebumps on the back of my neck from the support and respect for our fallen hero. Everything seemed peaceful and comforting. AFter the service and the escort approached the final resting spot for Sgt. Parker, another wave of flags present to greet us. All lined up on the side of the road and looking over the service keeping watch for the family. So folks, I have said this before, job well done today for this American Hero. The Patriot Guard Riders did a wonderful job, military personnell and the LEO's all thanked us for doing what we do. Many of the people attending the services today would look at you and whisper thank you for being here, it means so much. I would reply " It is an honor to be here". so with this I say God Bless America and our troops.
