On every headstone there are two dates. One marks the beginning of a life, the second, the end. It's the dash that represents the life we all lead. Sgt Jason Schumann chose to live his life for his country and there are few words that can adequately express our gratitude for his sacrifice. His "dash" leaves a mark on us all. I pray that the peace of our Lord and Saviour comfort the friends and family of this young hero as you deal with this difficult time. Know that Jason will never be forgotten. |

May you" Sgt. Jason A. Schumann"(and all of our fallen soldiers) be remembered everyday - not just on Memorial Day. It is because of your sacrifices that we are able to enjoy this great country that we are blessed to live in. So many people forget the losses that many live with day to day. Whether that loss it temporary while a dad, mom, brother, sister, son, daughter or just a friend is away protecting our freedom ... or permanent - the ultimate sacrifice. We should all offer a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, a friendship - to ANY one that is gong through this loss. Let's remember them everyday!

Completed Mission Statement for SGT Jason A. Schumann, 29, 30, 31 May 2007, 1 June 2007
29 May 2007 Honor Escort Mission
49 Patriot Guards welcomed SGT Jason A. Schumann and his Family as he arrived at Fargo Jet Center, Hector International Airport, Fargo, ND at approximately 12:30pm. An Honor Guard Flag Line was established in the hanger for the Arrival Service. He was transferred from the airplane to the hearse inside the hanger. Flag Lines to greet the family were established at the entrance to the Fargo Jet Center building and also along the entrance road to the Jet Center. 39 motorcycles were parked on each side of the road in preparation to Escort SGT Schumann from Fargo to Hawley, MN for the Visitation and Funeral Services. The Honor Escort commenced about 1:10pm and proceeded through Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Glyndon and on to Hawley with the final stop at Vigen Funeral Home.
30 May 2007 Honor Escort and Flag Line for Visitation Service
The Visitation Escort and Flag Line were made up of 5 Patriot Guards. Jason was escorted from the Vigen Funeral Home to Hawley Lutheran Church for the Visitation Service held on Wednesday between 4-8:00pm. Our Flag Line was then set and held for about 2 hours until all Family members had entered the Church for the Service.
31 May 2007 Honor Escort and Flag Lines for Funeral Service
47 motorcycles with 53 Patriot Guards stood the Honor Flag Line for SGT Schumann’s Funeral Service. This was a tremendous turnout as concurrently being held was the Honor Escort Mission for SGT David Kuehl from the Fargo Jet Center to Wahpeton, ND with in excess of 100 cycles performing that Escort. Eleven motorcycles escorted Jason from Vigen Funeral Home to Hawley High School where the Funeral Service was held. Following the Service, Jason was escorted back to the Funeral Home.
