Eternal peace, grant unto him O Lord and let YOUR Perpetual Light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Your watch is over; we’ll take over. Sgt. 1st Class Jesse B. Albrecht, thank you for protecting our families and us in times of peace and war. Our condolences to your family and friends. Without your sacrifice, our freedom would mean nothing.

“The American Flag does not fly because the wind moves past it. The American Flag flies from the last breath of each Soldier, Sailor, Airman & Marine who has died protecting it.”
"Honor to the Soldier, and Sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country's cause. Honor also to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field, and serves, as he best can, the same cause -- honor to him, only less than to him, who braves, for the common good, the storms of heaven and the storms of battle."

For those riding from Western WI, if you care to ride with us, we will meet in North La Crosse, at the Shopko parking lot (not the Onalaska one by the mall) at 8:15 AM. Brief at 8:30 and kickstands up at 8:35 AM. We will be riding up the river and meeting the Rochester group and riding on to Glenwood city. After the dismissal we will pick a route for our return. Bring appropriate clothing for the weather, a flag, and your respect.

Jesse, THANK YOU, for your service and sacrifice for our country.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13.
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you. Jesus Christ, and the American Soldier. One died for your sins, the other for your freedom.

I would like to thank you for making Jesse's funeral a very special moment of honor and pride. Jesse Albrecht is my stepson and would have been so honored by your presents at his funeral. I can not begin to tell you the emotion of seeing a sea of stars and stripes approaching the church. As I walked out and around to take in the faces holding the flags, emotion over came me and I was comforted by one of the women of your group. The kindness of a stranger there to honor my fallen soldier was a warm moment I will never forget. There was a mother with her two young girls holding flags across the street. A member of the Guard crossed the street and said to the mother, "we would be honored to have you join us". After she hugged me she too joined the line of flags. Another precious warm memory of a horribly difficult day. As the funeral continued I could see the reflection of the ever present flags waving out the door even in the pouring rain. Jesse's father, our family, and I will never forget the protective, beautiful addition of the Patriot Guard, nor will we ever look at the flag the same way again.
With Incredible Gratitude,
Denise R Pollei |
