In case some of you may have missed it, Mr's Spencer, Cole's mother, asked that we post her sons picture in the thread. It is included in the first post. A handsom and proud young man from a proud American family. My heart goes to the Spencer family. I know your pain, and I know how hard it is right now. Please know that there are many of us trying to help shoulder your burden.

Sincerely, Mike

It is with heartfelt regret and sympathy that I leave this message to the loved ones of U.S. Army Pvt Cole E. Spencer. Our young people such as Cole, who answer the call to service, are the gold standard by which we must judge ourselves. We will forever have a debt of Honor to Cole for his service and sacrifice. I pray to The God of Our Fathers that He will Abide with all who most bear the burden of loss and sorrow; that He will give strength and comfort for all the days to come, and that his angels will always be near.

Psalm 139: 9-10 "If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there thy hand shall lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."

Thank you all for coming out to the airport today.  The weather managed to lift in time for us to bring Pvt. Spencer home without any delay.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the Spencer family and their friends in this time of great sorrow.  Thank you all for doing what you do, God Bless.

Can anyone give me a recommendation for a motel close to Gays? It looks like Effingham may be the closest.

Thanks

Spc Cole E Spencer arrived at Decatur airport approx 11:55 am Saturday May 5. Cole was escorted to McMullen Young Funeral Home in Sullivan by 20-30 bikes, followed with 24/7 honor guard until time of funeral service. Bill Hay, you were outstanding!!! This mission would not have been so successful without your help and Ken's. This mission was a prime example of TEAM WORK!!! Ken, we've got your back anytime. Arne, you did it again!! Special, Special thanks to the citizens of Sullivan and Gays for the hometown hospitality and selfless acts of kindness. What they did for us were endless. Mark and Candy, thank you for for giving this nation such a fine young man who was willing and did sacrifice his life so that we all may continue to enjoy the freedoms that we have today. Cole will be in our hearts forever. We will never forget.
