We have but one country. Let us guard it with those that we trust, and when they fall, replace that person, until there is nobody left.

If our country fails, it should only be because there is nobody left to fight for freedom.

We have to watch this weather tomorrow, if it is bad we will have to stand down on the escort. I will make that call in the morning and will monitor the flight. The storm headed our way should be out of the area by 13:00. If the flight is delayed it just might work out for the best

Please monitor this tread for updates

Thank you, Spc Tamez, for your service and sacrifice. As a nation we mourn your loss, and as a nation we will remember you always as a true American hero. To Eddie's family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of your grief-my son was killed last year in Iraq. I hope wonderful memories of your dear warrior help to eventually ease the pain you endure today. Eddie will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom

Thank you all who were able to make the escort today. The family really appreciated what we did and wanted Mike and I to thank you all. When we went past the school and all the kids were out with small flags in one hand and the signs they made in the other that just went to the heart.

The turn out from the community along the sea wall was fantastic. The Galveston police did one of the best escorts we have had to date. The airport gave us full cooperation and support allowsing our bike on the tarmac and even let Mike escort the plane in from the runway. You all should be proud that we helped bring home a hero today they way it should be. Thank you all.

I agree with you Johnny D hats off to all the Galveston Police Department for a fantastic escort and to all the people of Galveston that turned out to honor this hero. One thing that stood out as we passed all the young children holding their flags and signs was one young boy with his flag in his left hand and a crisp salute with his other hand.............god bless him.
