Sgt Milton A Gist Jr,

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and all that we hold sacred. Though tears can never bring you back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that you made and our sorrow at your passing. You are truly a hero and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Your mission on earth is complete. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the heroes who have passed before.

To the family and friends of Sgt Gist, we offer our deepest sympathy and condolences. May God smile down upon you in this time of deep sorrow and grant you the strength and conviction to carry on. May you find joy in fond memories and peace in knowing that your loss was not in vain. A grateful nation stands with you.

Would that others weren't already counting on me, I'd be there for you brother - to render the thanks, honor, and respect that you so richly deserve. I will be thinking obout you however, and praying for you, your family, and your friends. Rest in peace soldier - your watch is over, and we've got your back.

Final Itinerary: Saturday, 10 February, 2207 Staging will be 9:00am at the Community Outreach Center located at 5869 Bartmer Avenue in St. Louis. My suggestion for directions are I 64 to the McCausland exit, North to Skinker (McCausland turns into Skinker), Skinker to Delmar turn right on Delmar, Delmar to Hamilton turn left on Hamilton, Hamilton to Bartner, the Outreach Center is on the corner of Hamilton and Bartner. Ride meeting will be at 9:30am. At this time I’m not sure there will be any facilities at this location but we will have an opportunity to leave for a period of time during the services. My suggestion would be to stop for fuel and relief before you get here. The Wake will begin at 10:00am at which time we will have a flag line until the service begins at 11:00am and ending at 12:30. Following the services we will escort Sgt. Gist and his family to Jefferson Barracks for burial. Those coming from the airport should discuss your routes there. One suggestion might be 170 to Delmar then all the way in to Hamilton. IMPORTANT: Do not go to the funeral home. There will be no one there. Make sure to go to the Community Outreach Center. There is possibly a 2 mission here so let’s try to have a good number of people. If anyone needs any more information please feel free to email me.

The old man upstairs decided to give us a great day, as the number of bikes proved. Roni and I went to Mo. to help our brother PGR members lay another hero to rest. I would like to convey my sincere condolences to Sgt. Milton A. Gist Jr. Wife, two children and the entire family. It was an honor to help put your husband and son to rest.

Sincerely yours,

Jim and Roni Storck

When I arrived at the staging area I pulled my bike into an open area of the parking lot feeling sure I would have plenty of room. It was cold and I suspected that I would need room for 4 or 5 bikes and several cages. One lone truck pulled in with Kentucky plates and I went over to make the normal introduction to find this was the drivers first mission and that he had seen a PGR member in another truck riding around the block. I went up to the church to let the pastor know we were there and pick up any last minute planning and when I returned to the staging area I was delighted to see the staging area filling up and already my idea of 4 or 5 bikes was going to be off a little. By the time the services for Sgt. Gist began we had around 30 bikes and 8 cages staged for the procession from West End Mt. Carmel to Jefferson Barracks. As flags lined both sides of the driveway the family arrived and made their way into the church. During the wake we presented to Raheisha a teddy bear for each of her 2 kids which apparently was appreciated by Jendayah who immediately gave her bear a big hug and sat down and began to play with it. But then again what 4 year old wouldn’t have. By the time we left for JB the air had warmed and the sun was shining bright. Not only was the graveside services well attend by family but even more Patriot Guard Riders were there waiting when the escort arrived along with about 50 of the White Tail Deer that call JB home who were milling around the area. The PGR plaque was presented to Sgt. Gist’s wife, the PGR stood in their flag line, the services continued, the PGR stood in their flag line, the casket was moved to the grave, the PGR stood in their flag line, the family and friends of Milton Gist Jr. moved to the graveside, the PGR moved to encircle the family and friends in a circle of support and love in final respect and in honor of Sgt. Milton Gist Jr., American Army Soldier, Father, Husband and Son and a true American Hero. Thank you to all who supported this mission. Thank you to the Austin Layne Funeral Home for your support. And most of all, thank you to the family for allowing us to honor this great American, Sgt. Milton Gist Jr. will never be forgotten.

Our morning started out real early for a 100 plus mile trip to honor Sgt Gist (preceeded by the send off for Sgt Lee at the airport).  It was less than 9 degrees when we departed for St Louis but it was 42 when we left St Louis.  In other words, warming.

It was an honor to stand for the family of Sgt Gist who has made the ultimate sacrifice for his country.  Rest in Peace.
