I very much thank all of you that participated in last nights mission. As I stated in the saftey meetiing this mission touched home for me, it was nice to see so many of you show up as my family is from Maine. We had bout 45 bikes, 4 LEO's bikes and I dont know how many APD cars there was .....( i lost count). Cedar Park PD was a really great help, and Lampasas PD WHAT a GREAT DEPARTMENT. They had bout 30 minute notice of our arrival and they had the intersections covered for us. And a Special THANKS to the TX. DPS. And as aways Vicki you are( THE WOMAN) THANKS. Like Steve said never thought we go thur Austin up Hwy 183 and never stop for a light. I really like to thank all who were on the escort for the SAFE ride up to Lampasas. And I would really like to THANK the Ciraso Family for allowing the Patriot Guard to do the escort. And again Thank- you all for a smooth and well done mission John Nelson

The following is the staging information for Austin PGR for this mission. Andyman (Andy Lough) will be the RC. Please e-mail him only if you plan on making it, so he can have an approximate head count: alough@austin.rr.com .

We will not be part of the procession from the funeral home, but rather part of the advanced party at the cemetery. We will receive instructions from Joker and Preacher upon our arrival at Killeen staging. Anyone who wishes to be part of the procession should proceed individually and stage with CenTx for the services. (check itinerary at top of thread).

Staging Info

Location: Exit 254 (IH-35) at McDonald's
Time(s): meet: 1045-1100
safety brief: 1115
KSU: 1120

We will go North on IH-35 to Hwy 195 to Killeen and meet with CenTex adanced party at 195 & Elm Rd. ETA: 1215. There are 50 flags stored at the cemetery that have to be set up to provide a corridor of flags as the procession enters.

Please note: if you are in the Austin Area and have not sent me your e-mail address or are not receiving updates from me, please contact me at: pgrmuddyduck@gmail.com

I just wanted to say "Thank You " to all involved in the Mission for Sgt. Ciraso today. I thought all phases of the mission went extremely well...The Road Captians, the Support Ladies, All the Law Enforcement Escorts from start to finish, The Liberty Bell man (sorry I don't know his name, because I should by now) and of course all the PGR members who where there today for this Soldier and his Family. And I have to give a Big Thumbs Up to the folks in Lampasas as we left town. I was caught completely off guard by their turn out....I don't know why because that is something else I should know by now....Patriotism is alive and well in Texas, and these small towns make us proud everytime...
One last thing....After the ceremony in Killeen today Lewis and I stopped in Florence for fuel. While we were there, a car load of Sgt. Ciraso's family drove up. After we had fueled and they had gotten their drinks etc., A lady whom I assume was Sgt. Ciraso's mother (Lady with long red hair who recieved one of the flags in the ceremony) looked over at us and said "Thank You very much for what you did today". With that I got off my bike and went a gave her a hug. I told her that we were honored to have been there for the Sgt. and his family today. After being thanked by all the other members in the car, we spoke briefly, I gave her another hug and we left. God Bless them all during this time off distress...and once again, Thanks to all involved.

We are each just a pixel in the "Big Picture". Together we bring it into focus. Hopefully the image we create will leave a positive and lasting impression on each Family and Community that we have the honor of serving.

This, my first mission as a PGR rider, was completed yesterday. I just cannot say enough how proud I was to be able to honor this American Hero by standing for him. In addition I want to thank all members who I met on this endeavor ,especially SCOUT for orchestrating yesterday and ANDYMAN for being my RC up from Austin. Although my Heart says I hope this is the LAST my mind knows better... I will see all of you special Americans at the next Mission. Best Regards till then Ken Garwick "The Fireman"

My heart goes out to the wonderful family and friends of SSGT Ciraso. I was also moved by the turnout of townsfolk and soldiers lining the highway.

Thanks to Preacher and the other folks who keep those of us who get confused easy in line and on track.

Also, a special thanks to the "Support Ladies" for helping make a tough thing just a little easier.
