SGT Rock and Everyone Else reading this.   FYI,  This piece of history is originally from Indiana.  It is a piece of Indiana Limestone.  As you may know many of the buildings in the Washington area are faced with Limestone from Indiana.  The main structure of the pentagon is reinforced concrete but the facade is Beautiful Indiana Limestone.   Let's all give this one a special greeting if at all possible.

Sgt Rock,  I am standing by for further instructions, sir!   It is my pleasure to participate and render any assistance you request.

Butch, Ohio,
Great!  I'd like to set the exchange for 8-9 AM if that works for you.  That would give us both a chance to get to Richmond.  What about the big truck stop North side of I-70 at US 40?  It's right on the state line with lots of parking space.

Sean, Illinois,
As soon as we get the east transfer worked in, I will get with you on the west.  I'll tell you though, there is no way we can make that arbitrary 12:30-1PM meeting.  With turn-around time, the Indy stop, fuel and I-70 construction, I'm thinking 5 hours from pick up.

Carl, Indiana

Once we get things figured out this may be the best place to change over:

Cumberland Road - 7 mi. W. of Indiana line (Mile Post 149) I believe this is a pretty good size rest area.

Carl, It sound like we have a plan. I'll be working with Ron on
the east side of Ohio Wednesday and the transfer from our "family'
in West Virginia. I'll be in Marysville early Wednesday evening for a photo-op
for some of the locals and newspaper.

Up bright and early and I'll meet all the Indiana folks at that truck-stop at 8:00
a.m. +/- Thursday.

Everyone be safe.

Barring a balk from work - which I doubt for this event - I am looking forward to assiting in the first leg of the escort from the Pentagon (I'll probably peal off at Hagerstown).

Is there anyone or group leaving from the Harpers Ferry area heading down to the Pentagon that I could meet up with? Feel free to e-mail me (AngeloMileto@adelphia.net or Angelo.Mileto@disa.mil) or call me (H:304-725-1457 W:703-681-2562) if you are and we can iron out the details.

Sean & Joe, Illinois:

Can you folks do 3:00?  Since this IS Indiana limestone, our Indy PR stop may run a bit longer (The Governor may want to speak).  Plus, checking the IN DOT site, it shows I-70 road work not just between Plainfield and Terre Haute but from 46 to the state lane with lane restrictions, so we may end up on US 40 half way across the state.
Some things we just can't control but I think we are safe with 3:00.

Also, not sure about your rest stop, I think an interchange would be the better because it is accessable, on and off, from both directions. I think IN exit 1 had a rest stop.  Let's lock the time in then we can work out the exact spot.  May need a recon.

3:00 will work, I am going to make a trip to the Indiana line Monday since I am off work and kinda scope the area for a good place to meet up if you or anyone is close to Terra Haute area you can call me and we can meet up to check the area, we may also have a funeral mission within the next several days, we had a 19 yo guy in the reserves that was on his way home today from weekend duty and was in a head on fatal crash, I am looking into details on this also since the family is from the town I live in. my cell (618) 780-3935

Sean, Illinois:
We may be early, just found out that we have Indiana State Police escort line to line.  How cool is that? But that's okay, a 3:00 handoff is good, that way we don't have to run hard as it will be a 400+ mile day for some of us.

Do you know when you will be near the state line on Mon?  Pick a time and a place and I will meet you somewhere over there, we can recon together and agree on a good spot.  I have your cell number but can't hear my cell if I'm on the scoot.

Sorry to hear about your soldier.  We've been so lucky, a lull in funerals has given us the opportunity to catch up on some things that need doing and allowed us to do some fun things like the Loop for Life yesterday and weekly Meet & Greets.

See you Monday.

Fire Chief, I think your truck would make an excelent hauler for the memorial stone! (you can run the strobe lights all day!) I'll bet that your truck feels like a Hundai compared to what I've seen pictures of you driving lately! (LOL) On a serious note I think yours is an outstanding offer, thanks for stepping up! And your truck was also outstanding on the "Rick Monday Flag Mission".

God Bless You All,
Pat

Joe (Zinoble), Ron, Boccie and all.....talked with Ron, RC for the WV leg of this mission, and agreed I would pick-up this piece of history in Shanksville, PA on Tuesday afternoon.  Will be leaving home NLT 1200 and should arrive in the neighborhood of 1500.  Anyone needing to get in touch with me prior to departure, call the home phone (304) 455-4036.  After 1200, or if no answer, call my cell (304) 588-1278.

Will meet Ron at the rest area inside the WV/PA line approximately 1800 for the transfer.

Lord willing, will be riding up with Boccie on 2-wheels Wednesday morning, providing escort to the transfer to our brothers in the Buckeye state.

I consider this a HUGE honor to be a small part of this historic event.  Joe...Thank You for allowing me to actively participate.

Sgt Rock,

How perfect is that? Ya got the Sgt Rock hauling the rock! I would be remiss if I didn't make this. Planning on the last exit before OH at 0800. It will be an honor to ride with ya'll. For me it's a sad honor. I was one sector away from getting American 77 when they disappeared. It still haunts me. Maybe this will give me some closure.

Yeah, but WHAT a rock it is, this is history in the making.
We owe you and Chris BIG time for the ISP escort.  How cool is that?
I hope this mission helps you get the cobwebs about those flights out of your head, but I know it's hard my friend.
We're lining up a 1st rate crew, should be a show to remember.
I'll be e-mailing riders with info as needed plus watch Special Mission forum for updates.
