Our prayers go out the the family and friends of this wonderful hometown hero. Standing by to help my neighbor. I may not be able to ride due to previously scheduled appointment on the bike, but if possible I will be there with my truck. Depending on times, I should be able to assist with the escort from Lambert.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Sgt. Mennemeyer is now at his place of honor and rest with the other Fallen Hereos.
Depending on the final itinerary and if I can get off work, it would be an honor to make this mission.

For the family of Steven P. Mennemeyer:

I can only imagine what you and your family have gone through since being notified of the death of Steven. I want you to know that you are not alone.  Hearts of families all over the United States are grieving with you and have your family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

LIFE...so fragile.    LOSS... so sudden.    HEART...so broken.

In time, there will come a day when the tears of sorrow

will softly flow into sighs of remembrance. Your heart will begin to heal itself.
Grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy; & you will hear the whisper of hope.
There will come a day when you will welcome the pangs of remembrance

as a sun shower of the soul; a turning of the tide; the promise of peace.
There will come a day when you will risk loving,

go on believing, and treasure the remembering.

Steven was a very good and brave man. You have much to be proud of. He has not left you, but has been re-deployed to Heaven. I wish that I could ease your pain and sadness, but it will be a long, slow and painful climb.  Pain this deep will never go entirely away, but I pray that as each day that passes the hurt becomes a little less. And the memories of a lifetime will sustain you. These memories are your keepsake that can never be taken away.  God has Steven in his keeping, but you have him forever in your thoughts and hearts. We pray that our Savior – in whose presence Steven now rests – will comfort you and ease the pain of this loss and that your memories of him will shine through the sadness.

I would like to have the honor of being part of the escort that brings this HERO back to his home town, his family and friends. Does anyone have the specifics of this ride? Time, staging point, etc.

God bless you Sgt. Mennemeyer, and thank you for your ultimate sacrifice.
