My thoughts and prayers are with Sgt Miller's family.

Standing by in Kasson.

It's not neccessarily the conditions you ride in, but how much you've prepared yourself to ride safely in them that will make a difference.

Keep the rubber side down!

Mankato MN Sector.

I'm sorry for the early time but it's important that I arrive early in Willmar.

4:45am - We will stage at Mankato Harley Davidson, 1200 North River Drive in Mankato (just off Hwy 14 and on Hwy 169)

5:00am - We will be leaving Mankato HD no later than 5:00am on US 14 West, at Sleepy Eye turn onto US 4 North, at Fairfax turn onto Hwy 19 West, at Morton turn onto US 71 and take that to Willmar.

7:30am - Arrive in Willmar, MN and go directly to the Willmar High School, North-East Parking Lot for final staging.

I know this is a little out of the way, it's 2 hours 36 minutes and 113.06 miles. However this keeps us on semi major roads which should provide safe shoulders should someone need to pull off in an emergency.

We will stop for gas on the way, my bike can't go farther than 100 miles on a tank of gas.

Bring a 3x5 foot flag and pole if at all possible.

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather, pack rain gear, bring WATER and something to EAT. We must be self-sufficient.

My wife and I will be there to pay respects to Kyle's family and friends and to honor a fallen hero.
Here are some articles about Sgt. Miller and his family. You need to register with the paper, but the articles are very good. This is a good family in need of support.

As I prepare to go to Willmar to honor Sgt Kyle Miller I want to share with you a paragraph of an email sent to a friend of mine by her nephew in Iraq. She and her nephew both agreed I could share this with you:
Hello all happy Independence week. Maybe one of the toughest stretches of time since in country! The loss of a fellow soldier this week and then having his ceremony on the 5 July has brought the reality of everything we do to light. His name was Sgt. Kyle Miller (probably a name I will never forget), and to tell you the truth he was one of those new, very young kids that I gave a lot of shit to. His bed was right next to mine while we trained at Shelby so I had plenty of time to get after him. Much of what he did (like leave his weapon unguarded, and smoking in military vehicles) caused me to get after him, but once I got him he would give me that smile and that of course made things worse. We did have a good relationship once things were all understood. He will be missed, and any loss is tuff."

I felt this helped me understand who Sgt Kyle Miller is, made me feel closer to this American Hero.

It also made me realize that we have a lot of troops to support over there, and around the world.
Our best wishes go out to his brothers in Iraq, and around the world as they defend our freedom.

My sincerest sympathies to Sgt Miller's family, I hope it helps to know that we care.
I will be honored to be there Monday.

Attn Metro area Patriot Guard Riders:

Below is the staging info for the upcoming mission to honor Sgt. Kyle Miller of Willmar, MN this Monday July 10th. For this mission, the NE and NW Metro Ride Captains (JD Daher and Kevin Price) are unable to attend. We hope that PGR members from their sectors will be able to make it to the other sector staging locations or the final metro staging location in Orono.

SW Metro Ride Captain John Redfield will be staging at the Eden Prairie Mall in the Sears/Wildfire parking lot, the same place we all met up for the Sgt. Koch mission.
Arrive by 4:30 AM, leaving NLT 4:45 AM.

In addition SE Metro Ride Captain Nate "Birdie" Zenker will be staging at St. Paul Harley Davidson (I-94 & Century Ave).
Arrive by 4:15 AM, leaving NLT 4:30 AM.

Both of these staging areas will then meet at Orono High School, located near Hwy-12 & Old Crystal Lake Rd in Long Lake, MN.
Everyone should be there by 5:15 AM, we will be leaving NLT 5:30 AM.

If you are coming west on 494, please remember that 494 is closed between Hwy. 5 and 394. It is best to take 169 north to 394 and then 394 west to Orono High School. (392 becomes US12 after crossing 494.)

The entire Metro group will then proceed to Willmar together to meet with everyone else at Willmar High School, next to the Civic Center, North-East Parking lot, exit off of Highway 23/71 one exit north of Highway 12 exit. This exit is marked for the High school and Civic Center.

As always, please arrive at any of the staging areas with a full tank of fuel, food and water (if you need some), and most importantly a flag.

Thank you all in advance for your help in honoring this American Hero!
