U R G E N T - I would ask that all riders assemble at the high school earlier that noted. I am requesting that everyone be there by 11:30 vice 12 pm so that we can cover the ride mission in detail. We will depart the high school at 12 pm enroute to the church.

Please advise anyone you know that may be attending.

For those in the St. Louis Metro Area going on the mission. We will meet at the Cracker Barrel as previously stated in this thread, but we need to leave no later than 10:15 AM. The Ride Captain has requested us to be at the High School Parking Lot at 11:30 on Friday morning. I will plan on being at the Cracker Barrel about 9:15 for breakfast if anybody wants to join me. Look for a short guy with a gray beard wearing leathers and you will probably have found me. Unfortunately it looks like we get the rain suits out again. The forecast calls for rain all day long. We only have two things going for us. 1) the high is supposed to be in the upper 50's and 2) we can follow the fish to the school. Oh, yes, it is only 63 miles from the Cracker Barrel to Woodlawn instead of 163 miles that I rode to Evansville.

I you aren't brave enough to come out and play in the rain on 2 wheels, we will forgive you if you show up in 4. (As long as you bring a trailer to carry my bike, but don't tell anybody.)

WBC site says they plan on being there.  I'll try to bring a 10 X 10 tarp and poles to shield the family if possible.  We could hang a flag on the front of it facing the family/route.

when Ron & myself
talked to Kyle's parents about the patriot gaurd riders attending, his dad said Kyle would have liked this. John also said he wants to bring Kyle home a hero.  With this group attending  you are  helping to make that possible. thank you  & god bless. Kevin

Regardless of how many people show or don't to honor this young man, he already is coming home a hero.  I'm not sure if I will be able to actually be there in body, but in spirit I will be there.  This one has touched me deeply as he is the same age as my son.  My heart goes out to his family and friends and his little unborn child.  I'm so saddened to hear his child will never have the opportunity to know his father.

Just wanted to add a little more info about those honoring LCPL Price.  This morning WIL radio station dedicated their daily playing of the National Anthem in honor of LCPL Price, immediately followed by Toby Keith's "American Soldier" song.   The DJ preceded the Anthem by reading Jonathan's bio.  Not ashamed to tell you it had me in tears.

My work schedule is cleared and a babysitter has been found. One child has had a bad cold but will hopefully be recovered enough to go to the babysitter. Rough Rider, at this point I am planning to meet you at the Cracker Barrel but may not be eating there. If I am unable to go at the last minute I'll be there in spirit if not in person.

Weather forecasts look iffy, but I'm reminded of many activities that I've backed out of due to threat of rain only to have a clear day. I can deal with being wet, but hope for LCPL Price's family that it will be a day clear of rain.

Last night Kyle was brought in from Deleware to Lambert St. Louis to Mt. Vernon. The airport shut down all operations while he was there, then a motorcade of over 20 flag waving vehicles followed the escort over 80 miles to Woodlawn, I was honored to join the motorcade at O'fallon, IL. The response from everyone along the way was amazing, Police lined the road at times saluting and waving flags, and then when we got to Woodlawn and Mt. Vernon, there were thousands of people lining the streets, waving flags, and holding candles. The local radio station played a tribute and kept tabs on the processional's location for everyone listening. The response from this community was amazing and it really showed that people do care and that Kyle will always be remembered as our hero.

Fallen Marine Returns Home

Hundreds of people lined city streets and county highways in Jefferson county Wednesday night for the final homecoming of a Marine killed in Iraq.

Lance Corporal Jonathan Kyle Price was killed on January 13th by small arms fire. People came out in droves to show their respect to the fallen hero. As the hearse passed, family members seemed overwhelmed by the support. "The people really shows appreciation and that they really do care what he had to give up for doing what he does for this country," said Brandy Sharp of Opdyke.

Visitation for Lance Corporal Kyle Price will be held Thursday starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Christian Church, with burial to follow at Knob Hill Cemetery.

Well, I've gotten lucky. I will be trailering my bike down from Indy, borrowed it from a State Trooper cycle officer. Is it going to be OK if I park the truck and trailer at the high school. Hey it's tuff getting old ya know!

If the lot fills up, I know plenty of places that you could pull in. We own some lots in town and you could park by those if nothing else.

Hi Partychic....

I would suggest just meeting up at the staging area as already outlined, and there when the known headcount of riders, and cagers can be determined, I'm sure a plan will be layed out...

See you tomorrow...

Respects,
