I was "ROOT" Reynolds fire team leader in Iraq and was proud to stand shoulder to shoulder once again with the Guard. Thank you everyone for showing up and supporting the family. The escort was outstanding and the wall of Flags at the church and Camp Butler was perfect. Keep the support at this level of motivation and the Nation will realize what a true patriot feels for a fallen brother or sister. Thanks again for the support.

Wanted to express a few thoughts since this was the first time I'd joined a PGR event. Everyone involved was so friendly and all clearly wanted to do their best to honor this young man and the family. Without making it "all about me" all I can say is I was proud to be associated with all of you - and to be a part of a patriotic tribute to a young man who served his country.
I didn't know Specialist Rod Reynolds very well but I know his sister. I was also member of Spfld So Baptist Church for about 10 years prior to moving my membership to another church closer to my new home. Friends of mine from the church were surprised to see me there in my leathers - but they all thought the PGR's line of flags was an excellent tribute to this young soldier. So I accepted their thumbs-ups, 'ok' and handshakes on your behalf.
Did anyone else get a little choked up when the mourners walked past with a salute or hand-over-heart?
The family taking time to thank each of us was an unexpected touching moment. Pastor Mike told me afterwards how moved Ms. Renolds (the mother) and Rod's grandparents were that people that didn't even know them or their son were willing to take off work and come and honor their son with a display of patriotism and sympathy. Saying goodbye was hard for them - but it helped knowing that there were people who really cared.
Finally, I want to say thanks to Doug Adams - the first to welcome me and who rode beside me to Camp Butler. Thank you to whoever brought the coffee and cookies and cold water. Thank you to Rose and Max who were quick to welcome and encourage "the new guy". And a special thanks to Jim for leading a prayer for the family and for traveling safety. Bless you all.

To the famly of Spc Reynolds, I was touched deeply by your graditude as you met and thanked the patriot guard members before the service. As a student of God's word I believe that He has a purpose for everything. Why he called Rodney home so soon we can't answer. As I observed the funeral service after being invited inside( thank you !), I think God touched many lives there. May God bless you and comfort you all. To Rose and Max, all the PGR members present, it was an honor to serve shoulder to shoulder once again. To the Soldiers Angels,thank you for all that you do. It makes a big difference. The Director of Camp Butler met me and a few others after the service and expressed his gratidute requesting that I pass on to the Patriot guard riders His messege:" You are doing a good thing and the right thing".

RIDING WITH RESPECT IN SPRINGFIELD This was not one of those deaths that you hear about in the DOD announcements but rather request from the heart of those who served with him in Iraq. John and Sam speak highly of Specialist Rodney Reynolds and I can’t help but feel the camaraderie they shared.
The Patriot Guard met at the Northenders VFW Monday morning, which by coincidence was the meeting place for both the Rick Monday flag escort and, also by coincidence, funeral reception afterward.
I was warned that drivers in Springfield had run and hit crossing funeral processions weeks earlier on the way to Camp Butler. I warned the riders. The blockers did a superb job and so did the funeral directors. They really knew the procession protocol well.
Family was invited to meet their PGR guests and shook our hands. Our flag line impressed the mourners and we even had some nice shade at Camp Butler. Some PGR members went inside for the service and others stayed outside to wait.
Thank you to the Soldiers Angels; Joe for being my wing man; Bill and the soldier (whose name I don’t know) had a truck with the yellow caution light and blocked traffic; thanks to our PGR member who traveled from Missouri to ride with respect for Rodney; thanks to my husband (he knows); and thank you Jim for the prayer. I swear, the need seems to pull resources out of you Patriots when the time is needed. You folks are awesome and that’s why I’m a Patriot Guard.
My sincere condolences to the Reynolds family and especially his little girl. I’m only glad that you had a brief opportunity together after his return from Iraq.
I gave a card to Rodney’s mother, a token flag from my motorcycle to Destiny’s mother as a keepsake, and two balloons that said “I Love You”. One balloon was for her to keep and the other for her to send to her daddy in Heaven. I watched as it went to Heaven. Rose Ride Captain for Specialist Rodney Reynolds
