Major Audo was my class leader at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA.  He is truly one of the finest leaders I met.  He was an Army officer...the class was all branches of services.  He treated everyone with respect no matter branch or rank.  He always had a smile and jokes, but when it came down to taking care of business he took care of it and he always looked out for us.  On graduation day I had the chance to see him with his wife and and his young son and daughter.  I am hurting for them right now, because I know what  great man they have lost from their lives.  I will not forget him. Thankyou to his family for supporting him and allowing him to serve and be a part of our lives...we are better for having known him.

To those standing for him at his service....Thank you!!!  I wish deeply that I could have been part of his farewell and give my deepest gratitude to his family in person.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Maj. David L. Audo ,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

To the family and friends of the ever so young Maj. David Audo,

There are no words or platitudes that can temper your pain. I can’t think of anything in life that could be more painful, then the loss of a loved one, especially a son.

I would, however, like to take a moment to remind you that as deep as the hole in your heart feels at this time, it will be filled over time with the wonderful times spent together.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” ~From a headstone in Ireland

Thank you David for your service to our nation, and it's people, you are a hero to all.

Riding in Spirit,

Always,

A Soldier's Prayer
(author unknown)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
