Contact with Capt. Funkhouser's family has been made and approval for this mission has been given by his family.

Not a lot of information about the service is available at this time. We do know that the funeral will be in San Antonio and Capt. Funkhouser will be buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Time and date of the funeral has not been established yet but will be posted just as soon as known.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Capt. James A. Funkhouser. We all owe Him a debt of gratitude for his dedication to the preservation of our freedom. We mourn His loss and thank Him for His ultimate sacrifice. May the grace of God comfort the Family in this time of sorrow and grant eternal peace to Capt. Funkhouser.

Please keep the family of Capt. Funkhouser in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry for your loss. No parent should have to mourn the loss of a child no matter the age, only our Lord himself who has lost a child himself can know the grief. Capt. James A. Funkhouser may you rest in peace, for your journey to light has just begun.

I will be standing by.

I was going to brag about my 1-1/2 hours in a torrential thunderstorm, in the dark on I-10 to get to the Holland mission in New Braunfels, but I am humbled by Boomer's recent 6900 mile journey from Texas to California, then cross country in Run for the Wall, then back to Texas. Incredible journey!

My boots are about dry from that last mission so I look forward to the opportunity to honor Capt Funkhouser and his family for their sacrifice. Frankly it bugs me that so much to-do was made of the CBS guys killed, but Capt Funkhouser, who was killed in the same event was basically ignored by the media. I hope we have a big turnout to let America know Capt Funkhouser is a real American hero!
