***  MISSION RIDE REPORT  ***     September 5, 2008

Lorne (Bud) Hahn, United States Marine Corp WWII Veteran

This mission began as all Patriot Guard Rider honor missions---with an invitation from a grieving family.  In this case, the family of Mr. Lorne (Bud) Hahn graciously invited the PGR to stand in silent respect for their hero.  It was truly our honor to be invited and attend the services for this Marine---THANK YOU !!

The Patriot Guard Riders on this day came from all over central Florida and they had all attended missions before, therefore, the mission brief WAS brief.  I’m still amazed at the turnout for such a short-notice mission---THANKS GUYS !!

We set the first flag line at Lakeland Funeral Home for the visitation and then set it again after the memorial service.  The funeral director and staff were all friendly and helpful which was very much appreciated---THANK YOU DIGGER et al !!

After the service we proceeded to the national veterans cemetery at Bushnell along with the hearse and the family and friends.  We received the assistance of a local sheriff’s deputy to get through several busy Lakeland intersections on our way out of town---THANK YOU SIR !!

At FNC we met up with PGR Ride Captain “Greek” Koutroubas and more Patriot Guard Riders and made our way to Committal Shelter C.   The USMC Honor Guard did an exemplary job of rendering military honors---THANK YOU GENTLEMEN !!

The family and friends of USMC Veteran Lorne (Bud) Hahn were very appreciative of us, as we were appreciative of them and their kind words---THANK YOU ALL !!

You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect.
