The soldier stood and faced God,

As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.

Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.

Any service related death, on or off duty, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.

It was indeed an honor to participate in the mission for PFC ZORN. He was a very well liked young man in his community; he was very much loved by his family and friends; and although he had only been in the Marine Corps for a short period of time, he was respected and well liked. With those attributes, God had a higher calling for him, and called him Home. God Bless you, Kirby!
