We cannot express the feelings that we have for you and your loved ones in this time of loss. We know what it feels like to lose your son. Please know that we understand what it feels like; our son was an OIF Vet and was lost to us not a month ago. Our son was always so proud of his service, as were we. He would tell us that he and his troops were spreading feedom throughout the world. They will soldier on forever together. Butch, Cindy, Laura (Pasik), and Ryan Dale

Ryan made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I am so sorry for his family and friends. Thank you, Ryan, for your courage and bravery. My friend's son, Jesse, was injured in the IED explosion that killed Ryan. I made this for him. If any of Ryan's family or friends would like a copy, please email me.

Hi everyone, My name is Chris Hernandez and I'm a retired Naval Officer (1980-2004) and Veteran of Foreign Wars member myself having served 5 tours in the middle east myself. I currently live and work in Southern Maryland where Sgt Baumann's family, friends, and community are grieving. I want to personally thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support during this difficult time. And not only do we look forward to the Patriot Guard doing this for the family, we are organizing one of the biggest community support campaigns for our area just to show the family how much our community cares also. Our citizens will also be lining the streets for miles for our fallen Hero. So welcome my military brothers, sisters, and new friends...

To the family and friends of Ryan, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can not imagine your pain as I know mine is nothing compared to it. Our sons went to school together. Mine should have graduated with yours but need to attend summer school to graduate. Wednesday, I called mine and gave him the news, as well as his sister who graduated in '02. Ryan was well loved and liked. He will be missed yet remembered.

May the love of our Lord gather around you and give you peace.

Our heart felt condolences to the Baumann family and friends in the loss of Ryan. Thank you for his service to this great country. Our prayers go out to God for you in this time of loss. Ryan served to give us the freedom we now enjoy so much and for that he is one of the GREAT AMERICAN HEROS of the land. God bless your family and friends. Wish I could have shaken his hand and told him thank you myself. God tells us that “Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) As Christ our Lord laid down His life for us that believe in Him for salvation, so your love one has laid down his life for us for our freedom. This act has made him a Super Hero in my heart and I thank-you deeply for this sacrifice made for our freedoms. I pray that God will now bless your lives and help you see how great a thing this is which your loved one has done. The FALLEN MILITARY MEMBER has shown this country his greatest love for country and friends

I suppose, in a way, this has become part of my soul. It is a symbol of my life. Whatever I have done that really matters, I've done wearing it. When the time comes, it will be in this that I journey forth. What greater honor could come to an American, and a soldier?

You are truly appreciated Sgt Baumann. I know you have been welcomed as a hero at heaven's gates by all our fallen warriors who have gone before you. Rest easy now Ryan, and know that you will always be remembered here.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom
