We will stand proudly to honor you.  You gave of yourself so that our country might remain free; so that the world might enjoy freedom.  Your service and sacrifice has not gone unnoticed.  We stand together as a nation and a world to honor you, your service, and your sacrifices.  Your battles have been fought.  Your watch is over.  Your time with us has passed.  Rest in peace soldier for you will never be forgotten.

Mr. Pettit, it will be my high honor to participate in your homegoing this week. My gratitude is yours for your love for this country and your sacrifice for its freedom. I know, and regret, you were not given the hero's welcome you deserved when you came home, but I smile when I think how you must have felt when our Heavenly Father uttered those long-due words, "Welcome Home". Prayers are being said for your loved ones as they remain here without you. May God bless them, may God bless you sir, and may God continue to bless America!!!

I would like to extend my most sincere and heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Viet Nam Veteran Ivan N. Pettit.  May God bless you all, and may He ease your pain and sorrow during this difficult period of time.

Thank you Ivan, for standing in defense of our freedoms and uniquely American way of life.  We live free because of the selfless actions of so many like yourself.  May God bless you, and may you rest in peace!

Final Inspection

MISSION COMPLETE: 14 bikes and two cages turned out in 100+ degree heat this morning to render final honors to this Vietnam Vet. Seven participated in the visitation the night before. My sincerest thanks to all who came out to support his mission and this family. Special thanks go to Camel for making a special trip in to provide flags, to Billy Fowler and our State Captain for their assistance and leadership. I also appreciate Tina Weaver and her grandson for their help with Mission Support. It was hot but I never heard a complaint. The family was very moved by your show of respect; the LEO community, the Military Honor Guard, Chaplain Miller, and the staff of Huson Funeral Home were all very complimentary. May God bless you for your commitment and concern and for you desire to stand tall for our heroes. It is an honor to serve beside you. Oh yeah, your fellowship at the debriefing was much enjoyed.
