Our son Staff Sergent Lucas Gonzales is escorting home his best friend Sergent Israel Garcia as I write this. Lucas made it out ok and that is the good news.We had the pleasure of meeting Israel and Leslie in April of 2007 in Vicenza,Italy before the 173rd deployed to Afghanistan.Our prayers and condolences to Leslie and Israels parents. Lucas and Israel should be home on Monday from what Lucas told us. Israel, you will be missed and we will not forget you!

ITINERARY
This will be a two Part Mission.

Part one:
On Tuesday 22 July 2008 the PGR will meet Sgt Garcia as he comes home to Long Beach. His aircraft will arrive at the AirFlite Terminal 
3250 Airflite Way Long Beach, CA 90807. His arrival is scheduled for 1200.
Following his arrival the PGR will escort Sgt Garcia and his family 3 miles to All Souls Mortuary 4400 Cherry Ave. Long Beach, CA.

Time Table:
1030 Stage at the AirFlite Terminal 3250 Airflite Way Long Beach CA.
1100 Flag Line
1245 Estimated time for escort KSU

Part Two will take place on 25 July 208, Itinerary to follow.

Sgt Garcia, you are so truly appreciated. I know you have been welcomed as a hero at heaven's gates by all our fallen warriors who have gone before you. Rest peacefully now, Israel, and know that you will never be forgotten here.
