Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of MSgt (ret) Matthew Ketterman, USMC, Iraqi Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Matthew.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all who have left condolences and to all who were at Matt's showing and funeral. To the posting of the flags, standing outside, the motorcycle escort and anything else you did "THANK YOU"! Matt loved the Marines and he would have been proud. You all are awesome and also true American heroes. "Semper Fi" puts on a whole new meaning when a loved one passes. Again "THANK YOU" to all!!

Gunny (You'll always be "Gunny" to me),

Today your mom called me and told me you were gone.  I don't understand how your life could be cut short so suddenly.  I'm in shock.  I know you will never read this, but I need to say goodbye somehow. Sending this letter out into cyberspace is the closest I'll get.  You were one of my best friends.  We had some great times on the ship together.  You were my light, my stress relief during hard times, and my buddy.  You gave me some of my favorite memories of the military.  Of all the things about you that I miss, I'm going to miss your sense of humor most.  You always kept me laughing.  You were so much fun to be with.  How can you be gone????  I wanted to call you a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't.  For some reason you were on my mind for several days.  I wish I called you.  How could I know that would be my last chance to say "I love you" and tell you how much I miss you?  You were the brother I never had.  You were my funny, fun-loving, sweet, sensitive, goofy brother and friend.  I cherish my memories of the laughs we shared.  It's too late now, but I have to tell you that I love you and I miss you so bad.  I'll NEVER forget you.  I am honored that I was a part of your life - you will forever be a part of mine.  Thank you for everything you gave - to your friends, your family, and your country.

With great love and sorrow,
Your friend, Dusty

Thanks to the Patriot Guard for honoring Matt so beautifully, standing at the entrance of the funeral home with the flags, and escorting him by motorcycle to Roselawn Memorial Park in Lasalle, Michigan. It's people like all of you who make this country great, by honoring our fallen soldiers and keeping their memories and service to our country alive forever. With deepest appreciation and thanks for everything you've done and continue to do for our service personnel and their families. We love you Matthew---our brother & brother-in-law, and best of all---our friend. Sherry & Mike
