My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a debt that can never be repaid. We know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. I thank you for the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED From the first time I made contact with Steve, Richard’s son, it was very clear that all the members of this family all very close to one another, and shared a mutual respect and love for Richard. When we arrived at the Funeral Home, the family asked we if we could Post the Colors at the casket, we did this as a group, presented honors and proceeded to form our lines. As with all PGR missions (especially with Extremely short notice) you never know how many of our brothers and sisters will be able to stand our lines and show the Respect and Honor Due to our Heroes and there families. This mission was no different, there were 17 Bikes parked outside the Funeral Home when Steve, Richards Son rode down the street to join us in our escort for his Dad. (Steve is a member of the American Legion Riders in Georgia, and asked if we would mind if he rode with us to escort his Dad). I am sure you all know the answer to that question. So with 18 Bikes we rode the 35 mile escort, with Steve up in front. Upon arrive at the Cemetery, our lines were formed, a short service with a 21 Gun salute was given, after which Richards family was presented with a Mission Accomplished pin. (We actually presented 7, one the Richards wife and 6 to his grand children) I would like to thank all the members of the PGR especially those who were able to stand for Richard. What you do never ceases to amaze me. A thanks to those of you that came up with the extra mission pins. I wouldn’t normally do this –but a very special thanks to the folks at Shaeffer’s Harley Davidson for providing a bike for Steve (at no charge!!!) Al Leib SRC Region 5PA
