I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to PV2 Matthew Brown for his service to our country. Over the years, many have chosen to stay at home during wars/conflicts, but it’s the “warriors” who make the difference…the ones who give of themselves, the ones who give up time with family and loved ones…yes, they are the ones who will always be remembered as the true heroes. May God give an extra measure of strength and comfort to the family and loved ones of Matthew at this most difficult time. His early departure from this life may be hard to understand, but "farther long, we'll know all about it".

PV2 Brown, you are so truly appreciated. Rest easy now with our Lord, Matthew, and know you will never be forgotten here.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom
