Condolences to the family and friends of SSG. Kevin C. Roberts.

'No Greater Love is this that a man is willing to lay down his life for another.' Only two men were willing to sacrifice their lives for us-Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. Neither of which can ever fully be repaid.

Thank you for your Service and my Freedoms. Your sacrifices will never go unnoticed. I am grateful to live in a country made up of volunteers like you. Your choice to protect our Nation and put your self on the line can never be repaid.

A Day, A  Week, A Lifetime
When I wake up in the morning
I ask myself
How will I get through this day
Without You

As I dress  and prepare to start my day
I wonder
How will I go on
Without You

As the day slowly slips away
I remember how  you made me laugh
And I smile
Without You

At the end of the day
As I prepare to close my eyes
I  know in my HEART
I couldn't have gotten through the day
WITHOUT YOU             author unknown

Casey, my beloved friend I miss you with an aching heart and too many tears.
You will always be an extra bright light in life. Your spirit is inspirational. You are the truest
American I know and the most awesome, loving husband and father. Your strength, courage, wisdom and service will live on-I know you walk with the Lord. Please guard us now in your new deployment. with respect and love, Rev. Liz

As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.

Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.

Any service related death, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I offer you my services, such as they are. If you want to talk, feel free to get in touch with me thru the PGR messaging. I WILL return your call/message. ANYTIME!

In the meantime know that my wife's and my prayers are with you.

Our heart felt condolences to the Roberts family and friends in the loss of Kevin. Thank you for his service to this great country. Our prayers go out to God for you in this time of loss. Kevin served to give us the freedom we now enjoy so much and for that he is one of the GREAT AMERICAN HEROS of the land. God bless your family and friends. Wish I could have shaken his hand and told him thank you myself. God tells us that “Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) As Christ our Lord laid down His life for us that believe in Him for salvation, so your love one has laid down his life for us for our freedom. This act has made him a Super Hero in my heart and I thank-you deeply for this sacrifice made for our freedoms. I pray that God will now bless your lives and help you see how great a thing this is which your loved one has done. SSG Roberts, you are so deeply appreciated. You stand now a hero at heaven's gates, along with all our fallen warriors who have gone before you. Rest easy now, Kevin, and know that you will never be forgotten here.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. My deepest sympathy to the family of SSG Kevin C. Roberts.  I appreciate all of his contributions to our country and may there be a special place for him in heaven. He gave his 'all' so young.   He has joined the ranks of heroes and I love him for that.  He is America's son, and I am an American.  That makes him partly my loss too. I will never forget.

FINAL ITINERARY, SSGT Kevin "Casey" Roberts, 25, Services in Center, Texas - Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2 PM

This is the final itinerary for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor SSGT Kevin "Casey" Roberts, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country on Wednesday, May 7th in Afghanistan.  His family has requested that the PGR be present at his services.  The mission is a 'go' and all contacts have been made.

Services: 2:00 pm, Friday, May 16th at the Mangum Funeral Home, 420 San Augustine Street, Center, TX 75935 (936-598-3341).  Interment following at West Hamilton Cemetery, FM 2427, approx. 20 miles south of Center.

Senior Ride Captain: Louis McGinty glmc@netdot.com

Weather Report:  Cloudy, 30% chance of showers and 75 degrees.  Remember Texas weather and come prepared for anything.  Come in a "cage" if necessary.  We need you on the flag line, regardless of the weather, but we don't expect you to endanger yourself by riding in inclement weather.

ALL GROUPS, CLUBS, INDEPENDENTS, ETC. ARE WELCOME to ride with us.  The only prerequisite is RESPECT for the fallen and his family.  Also remember, you do not have to be a motorcycle rider to participate.  The flag line is open to everyone.

Staging Site and Time:  11:00 to 12:30 pm at the Walmart Supercenter parking lot, 810 Hurst St. (Hwy. 96), Center, TX (936-598-7356), approx. 1  mile from the funeral home.

All new members are requested to sign a PGR Release of Liability prior to the Riders' Meeting, which will commence at 12:30 pm.  At 12:45 the group will ride to the funeral home, and will have the flag line in place by 1:00 pm.  The number of bikes present will determine if an advance group will go to the cemetery after the service begins, or if all will stay to accompany the funeral procession. On arrival at the cemetery, we will establish the flag corridor, and then circle the gravesite after family and friends have have made their way there.

Please remain flexible as to the requirements of the mission (SEMPER GUMBY).

Map link to the Center, TX staging area:
http://tinyurl.com/5fw9ya

SSGT Roberts leaves behind a wife, Donnice, and two children, Caehlen (age 9) and Keeghan (age 2).  He was originally from Farmington, New Mexico, and was serving his third tour of the war.  The first two tours were in Iraq, the third in Afghanistan.

Please ride safely and defensively.  Stand tall as you honor this American hero and his family, and thanks again for your participation.

For those of you planning on riding from the Tyler/Longview area, or those riders coming down from parts north, Robert Young (Horsepen) and Josh Tabor (Airborne Trooper) will be staging a group at the rest area at Mile Marker 608 on Interstate 20 East.  Josh says from that point it is 61 miles to the Wal-Mart staging area in Center, TX.

They ask everyone to be there by 9:15 am, and will have KSU by 9:30 SHARP.

If you have any questions regarding the Tyler/Longview staging for Friday, call Josh's cell at 903-407-3976.

And, as always, ride safe.  Remember, if the weather is bad, please come in the cage and leave the bike at home.  We need you in the flag line, but we want you there safely.  Thanks.
