It looks like Ted will be on two and I will be in four! Steam, thanks for the flags - they were all used in Tennessee at a mission there on Friday - very special to me. We'll be at the VFW before 9:00 tomorrow morning. We have to break off after Beaufort to come back home. I will be leaving for a mission in Kingsport, TN, very early Tuesday. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. It will be nice to be with more of our South Carolina PGR family! CheriLynn |

Chief Trillo, Theresa.........thank you for your hospitality today. I know this was a lot of work but I believe your hard work paid off. It was inspiring to see so many patriotic minded men and women together in one place. For a nation of people to forget the men who paid for liberty is a sin. I don't use that word lightly but I truly believe that. Today, I was reminded that there are many who have not forgotten and need but a suggestion to band together to remember. Thank you for inviting the Patriot Guard Riders to share in this special event.
CheriLynn......thank you for bring the flags again. They always add a special touch. Even though there were many flags posted today........more American flags didn't hurt a thing!
And to the Summerville Police Department.........I am truly impressed. For those of you who weren't there, you missed an impromptu class on how to handle a motorcycle with precision at speed. I told the officers that I got up and left Laurens at 0500 to ride down for the events and just their display while blocking traffic and leading our ride was worth the effort. I thought I could ride a motorcycle pretty well but I saw them do things today that I'd never attempt and they made it look easy.
Thanks to Stan and Dale who rode down from Laurens with me. It was a long day in the saddle but worth every mile.
It felt good to spend the day with patriots. God bless each and every one who participated. |

Steam, If was an outstanding ride and well worth the effort to make it happen. Theresa, James Wasden and myself thank all those who attended. Our goal was to bring together people who remember what Memorial Day is for, not to bring attention to specific organization of club, which smeems to be the basis for a lot of motorcycle events. We raised $758.75, which will be presented to the Disabled American Verterans Association sometime this week. We will also be posting pictures of the ride and ceremony on www.apehanders.us. The Summerville and Beaufort VFW Post Commander has already contacted me and is interested in participating again next year. We are also working on getting the mobile "Wall" down here in the Low Country for next year. Again thank you everyone making the event what it was meant to be.

Below is a link to some pictures I took on Memorial Day. They start at Shoney's where a few of us had breakfast, then on to the VFW Post in Summerville, followed by the VFW Post in Beaufort, and then to the national cemetery.

Thank you all for making this such a great day.
