I grew up in Mesquite.  While I am saddened each time I hear of a hero who has sacrificed his or her life preserving my freedom, realizing that Staff Sgt Craig is from my home town makes his service to our country even more meaningful to me.  I pray for his family and friends.  May God grant you peace, comfort, and strength.  Thank you Staff Sgt. Craig for your service and sacrifice.

We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. You are so deeply appreciated, SSgt Craig. You stand now a hero at heaven's gates, along with all our fallen warriors who have gone before you. Rest easy now, Clay, and know you will never be forgotten here.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

An outstanding mission, well led, PGR members Standing Tall and Silent...I was incredibly proud of ya'll today! The "pop-up" mission just before SSG Craig's graveside was also very moving. This is the first time that I stood for a Warrior whom we did not have a mission to support. His Family was very moved, and the members of his M/C were flabbergasted that we would stand for him as well...maybe some new members down Waco way!

Again, I am honored to stand with you, and call you Brothers and Sisters!

Thank you!

I attended the funeral for SSgt Craig on Friday. I knew going in that it was going to be an emotional day and that his final send off would be touching.what I didnt expect was the professionalism and patriotism of your Patriot guard members. In the world today many people disregard our soilders as expendable and they are not given the respect and thanks they deserve.I belive there is no greater calling than to put your own lives in danger to protect others.I cannot tell you how proud I was to be an American and the comfort you showed to SSGT Craigs family was beyond anything kindness I have ever seen. I do not own a motorcycle nor am I knowledgeable of the handling of these type memorials. The only thing I can do to help your cause is to spread the world. You have a loyal fan in me and I promise I will tell the story of your mission to everyone I meet.Keep doing what you do because it means more than you will ever know. God Bless each and every one of you as you stand for those who stand for us. Many Thanks Wendy Clark
