Mission Complete

For being an almost no notice mission, I would call it a success. We had four participants, which included 3 from the Mantiowoc/Two Rivers area and Sparky from Green Bay. At least one of the riders was a first time mission. We stood for the visitation hours and then stood down for the service. After the service we stood while the casket was loaded into the hearse. There was an escort immediately following. All four riders led the hearse to the cemetery about a mile away. Once the casket was unloaded and placed, we stood down, mission complete. After the graveside service, I attended the luncheon at the church, where many people thanked us for being there. It was truly an honor for us to be there for Chris. Thank you to those who showed up and showed their respect and honor to Chris Sauer. The family and many other mourners were touched by our presence. I am sure we helped make a tragic day, just a little bit better for some.
