As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.
Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.
Any service related death, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.
I offer you my services, such as they are. If you want to talk, feel free to get in touch with me thru the PGR messaging. I WILL return your call/message. ANYTIME!
In the meantime know that my wife's and my prayers are with you.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. | UPDATE
Arrival: Anticipate no earlier than Tuesday, 6 May 2008,
El Paso International Airport (EPIA) via commercial air
Tentative staging location for escort to Funeral Home (FH) at the Conquistador Statue at the entrance to the Airport passenger terminal/parking area. THIS MAY CHANGE. EPIA has requested minimal footprint at the Airport.
The plan is to accompany the family and Adrian from the Airport to the Funeral Home. We will also form a flag line at times and places of the family’s choosing. I expect this will mean at least an escort from the Church to the Cemetery. All of these are in close proximity to each other. RC has made contact with the FH POC but not with the CAO, so firm details and understanding of the family’s desires have not yet been attained. I have included Lat/Long of key points (other than EPIA) for those GPS users who might be traveling alone and from out of the area.
I would appreciate a heads up from any large groups who will, or even may, be riding in for this hero.
I can put up one or two bedrooms worth of riders any time this week. Write me an e-mail or use cell phone: 915-276-5914.
I will post more details when I have them.
Funeral Home:
San Jose Funeral Home (Lat/Long 31 30.298 N, 106 09.667 W)
300 West Main Street
Fabens, Texas 79838
Services:
Viewing/Visitation/Rosary: TBD
Funeral Mass: Date and Time TBD,
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (Lat/Long 31 30.224 N, 106 09.565 W)
127 West Main Street, Fabens, Texas
Burial:
Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, Fabens (Entrance at 31 29.658 N, 106 08.591 W)
If traveling directly to the Funeral Home or Cemetery from I-10, take Exit 49 and drive south on Ranch Road-793 (Fabens Street). From Fabens Street, turn left (west) on Main Street (also State Hwy 20, or the continuation of Alameda Avenue in El Paso). The Funeral home will be on the left, just past the corner of West 2nd Street and West Main.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Airman Apprentice Adrian M. Campos, Thanks for being one of our heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.
We salute you , My Friend
Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now,soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now,soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

| Eternal Father, Strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bid'st the mighty Ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to thee,
for those in peril on the sea.
Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces in the sky,
Be with them always in the air,
In dark'ning storms or sunlight fair.
O, Hear us when we lift our prayer,
For those in peril in the air.
Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
And those who on the ocean ply;
Be with our troops upon the land,
And all who for their country stand:
Be with these guardians day and night
And may their trust be in thy might.
And when at length their course is run,
Their work for home and country done,
Of all the souls that with them sailed
Let not one life in thee have failed;
But hear from heaven our sailor's cry,
And grant eternal life on high!
Verses from the Navy Hymn collected and adapted from the website of the Naval Historical Center for Airman Apprentice Adrian M. Campos, USN. 9 May 2008
