LCpl. Dustin L. Canham, thank you from a grateful nation for your sacrifice and May God Bless all your family and friends in this time of sorrow.
SOLDIER I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others Feared to go, and did what others Failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness… should I fail. I have seen the Face of terror; Felt the stinging cold of Fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried, Pained, and Hoped… but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best Forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was… a Soldier.
Soldiers Creed I am an American Soldier. I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States And live the Army Values.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom |

| On March 29th, 2008 we gathered to honor United States Marine Lance Corporal Dustin Lee Canham. LCpl Canham died in the service to our great nation in the Republic of Djibouti in eastern Africa. LCpl Canham is survived by his wife of 5 months, Devyn Canham, his father Mark Canham, brother Mitch Canham, and half-brother
Approximately 24 bikes and 2 cages gathered at King Charlie’s in Snohomish. Riding with the Washington State Patriot Guard Riders was representatives from the Marine Corp Motorcycle Club, United States Marine Corp Motorcycle Club, American Legion Riders, and the Christian Motorcyclists Association. We welcomed three riders on their first PGR mission. The unseasonably cold weather was marked with rain and snow.
At 1145 riders lined up and we proceeded north to Lake Stevens. At about 1200 we arrived at Elin Lutheran Church where we were directed to park our vehicles at Lake Stevens High Schools. Riders formed ranks and we marched to the church to form the flag line at the entrance. At about 1230 the coach carrying LCpl. Canham arrived at the church escorted by LEO motor officers. The PGR was called to attention and presented arms in honor of LCpl. Canham and family. The family’s pallbearers carried LCpl. Canham into the church. Prior to the service, I and Professor presented challenge coins to Devyn and Mark. The flag line was maintained until the service started at 1300.
At approximately 1305 the weather turned to snow. I stood down the flag line quietly leading the PGR out of the church area back to Lake Stevens High School for break down and de-brief. The first time riders were presented with ride pins furnished by Conan.
