Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Brian Leslie Clemons, Thanks for being one of our heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.
We salute you , My Friend
Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

| I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero who stood tall for his homeland in this very sad time in your lives, but remember that you knew a hero first hand while the rest of us just get to hear about their heroic deeds. My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a debt that can never be repaid. But please know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. Know that it says in the Bible in 2nd Corinthians 5:8 , we are confident I say , willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the LORD. No one can ever say that your loved one isn't a HERO, they were willing to serve that the rest of us may enjoy the freedom we do today, and the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. May GOD Bless each and everyone of you. |

Your kind words and ride planning soothe our hearts. Our family is so very grateful to you, Patriot Guard Riders!!!
Brian "Bear" Leslie Clemons:
Bear was born in San Diego but moved around quite a bit while growing up a "military brat." He spent formative years in Millington, TN, Jacksonville, FL and Miami. He lived most of his adult life in Miami. Recently, he had moved to Tampa to receive top-knotch healthcare and to be close to his youngest child.
Bear followed both his grandfathers and his father in the Navy tradition. His paternal grandfather is Master Chief Clemons--retired after 43 years active duty. Bear adored all his grandparents but often told me his Granddad (Clemons) was the greatest man he knew. Mr. & Mrs. Clemons and the "Clemons Clan" will attend the Wednesday service. Bear will rest close to his maternal Grandfather (Navy) and Grandmother Barnes at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
After his Navy service, Bear's dad worked for the FAA until his recent retirement. Bear's mother is a bank V.P.
After his time in Navy service, Bear briefly owned a Harley-building shop, then spent years as a service manager for Dodge, Crystler and Jeep. He and his dad had been working on cars and boats since Bear was a cub; so, he was very good at the auto service business. In 1999, he started becoming very ill and had been disabled with a number of serious ailments since then, receiving great care at the VA in Miami.
Bear and I met at the Miami VAMC; I was also disabled at the time. I had "disappointed" my step-dad, Navy CWO-4
(retired) John R. Knight, by joining the Army. Now, I'm back to work teaching school (alternative kids!!) and following a long-line of hard-working Americans--teachers, lawyers, businessmen, farmers, a counselor (every family needs at least ONE), a judge (ditto!), . . . ALL of us contributors. My uncle Stuart
Brown was a Marine LT in Vietnam; he has been practicing law in
my hometown (Macon, GA) for many years.
So, as you see, both our families are dedicated to the service of this country in the military and as civilians.
Most of Bear's and my friends from Miami are vets. When we recently parted (staying close friends) and Bear moved to Tampa, he found a wonderful group of folks to ride with, comprised of--you guessed it--even more vets: the Cigar City H.O.G. chapter.
Now it is my son (whom Bear claimed as his very own) who stands tall as a CPT in the Air Force. We painfully laughed remembering the ribbing that Bear and he gave each other constantly about their respective branches of service ---- most of it not repeatable in polite company.
Finally, everyone at our church-home in Miami has also been wonderful. Our church is celebrating Bear's life with a special service next Sunday evening. He is deeply loved by everyone at St. John's UMC, Miami Beach, where Bear was baptized in 2004.
So, on Bear's behalf, permit me to gush as I guarantee to you that every word you say or think on Bear's and our collective family's behalf is honestly appreciated. Most of all, we appreciate your prayers.
God bless you for your support of Bear Clemons, every service member and every veteran!!!!
/Georgia.

To Brian: Thank you for all you have done, and all you are. I know you are riding the golden Harley in Heaven, so enjoy it.
And finally to all: I am sorry I can not attend and pay my respects for this great hero. I am currently out of work with a broken wrist and unable to ride my bike since I can't squeeze the clutch. I also have no other working vehicle. Please know I will take a moment of silence to show my respects from home. |
