How heart-breaking.

So many times Collin fought back, and I really thought he'd recover.

He is at rest now; no more suffering; no more battles to fight.

Through all of this, you, his family and friends, have kept the faith.  Thank you for inspiring us.

Now ... may God carry you in His loving arms.

After two long months of praying for Collin to recover, God called a hero home. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I feel like he was part of my family thru the caringbridge web site. Sometimes we don't understand why God takes someone from us but he was needed more in haven. His body was so weak but his soul was strong, I know he will be watching over his family like a guardian angel. He will never be forgotten. Standing by in Grant Co. to stand for a fallen hero. Onnie

"Thank you, Soldier." Thank you for placing your life in danger, so danger doesn't come to America's shores again. You will never know the depths of my gratitude. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. If the PGR is invited, I will be standing in spirit with my brothers and sisters, praying for you and your family. To the Bowen family:
“I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic he died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.”

I will stand with the Patriot Guard, until the Patriot Guard stands for me. (USMC-2111)

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SSG.Collin Bowen, Thanks for being one of our heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

For two months SSG Bowen fought an amazing battle. Such strength! His family was by his side on this grueling roller coaster ride until the end, and their strength and love are an inspiration. They are truly heroes as well.
