My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to Staff Sgt. Greg Wager's family and friends. I heard about Greg's death earlier this week on another Forum, through which I am a member, and knew it was only time before we saw his name listed in the watchlist and now on the confirmed missions thread. I will be with you in spirit as another American hero is escorted to his final meeting place. Thank you for your service Greg.

Thanks to the wonderful people in the Carolinas, we've found this site. This is such an awesome thing for all of you to be doing.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Wagner family. They are such wonderful people and Greg is truly our hero. Greg was responsible for saving the lives of two soldiers in the past. He gave his own life while he was in the process of protecting another soldier. I know they will be reading all the supportive and comforting posts that are here and I hope it will ease their pain.  I am so sorry for all the shock and pain that Blondie, Kenny, and the rest of the family are going through right now. May God bless the Wagner family and be with the riders on their journeys. (FYI Greg was a biker, too and loved motorcycles.)

broseland, like albert5001 said, bring yourself and a 3x5 flag with pole if at all possible, Walmart sells a 3x5 flag and pole kit for $19.95 that not only will fit in your car but fits on most bikes. Menards has a 3x5 polyester flag for $4.99 and a wooden flag pole for $5.95 that will fit in your car, but will not so easily fit on a motorcycle.

Oh yeah, most of us will be in wearing chaps and leather jackets and leather vests, so don't over dress broseland. Since I'm disabled I have to cage it and being 3rd generation Texan I was taught to wear a tie and sport coat at minimum for funerals so on my first mission I was a little over dressed but a buddy had tossed in an extra leather jacket and vest for me to wear. Now I wear my motorcycle jacket, vest and jeans on missions.

If you cage it, bottom line, wear what you are comfortable wearing when you attend a funeral and remember, the PGR's mission is honor the fallen hero and pay respect to the family and community. You can do that in a suit or leathers or anything in between in my humble opinion.

I've ridden motorcycles for years so I had the jacket in the closet. And after 14 years I took my motorcycle out of storage yesterday and am going to attempt riding again after it comes out of the shop. My doctors and family will just have to get over it. Some of my best memories are riding my motorcycle.

Hi all,
Just joined the site, am very happy to see this site so active and thankful you folks are out there.
Our hearts are heavy over the loss of Sgt. Wagner, we pray for strength for his family and unit.


We live near Mitchell and as Sgt. Wagner, our son is also a member of 147th, but was active last year in Iraq. . Unfortunately one of our home town boys got severly injured in the same incident and we are awaiting word of his arrival at stateside hospital while raising funds to help his folks with some of the expenses.

We don't own a bike at this time, but would be proud to stand with you all.
