Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of James MCCauley, Viet Nam Veteran May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, James.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

*************************ITINERARY INFORMATION*******************

   Staging time will be 0915 at the McDonald's Restaurant, 100 Market Place Mall #11, Weston, WV (http://tinyurl.com/267ukz).

   We will leave for the funeral  home by 0930, ensuring we arrive in time to have our flag line established prior to commencement of visitation services at 1000.  Parking at the funeral home will be in the parking lot of the local Fire Department located across the street.

   We will maintain our flag line throughout the visitation, until start of services at 1100, breaking away for a short period and returning as James is moved to the hearse for his journey to the West Virginia National Cemetery.

   Although there is NO set procession to the cemetery, some members of his family and friends will be following the hearse along the route and have requested the PGR take the lead.  We will be proceeding to I-79N to the Anmore exit, turning right on U.S. Route 50 to Pruntytown, proceeding through to the WV National Cemetery which will be located on the right.

   We will be proceeding up to the Pavilion, forming our flag line during graveside services.

   Understanding, full well, the short notice of this mission as well its, somewhat, remote location, all who are able to participate are requested to do so.  Most all Veterans of the Vietnam conflict were not afforded the proper welcoming they earned by serving all of us.  This is OUR opportunity to give back to one such Vet.

   Thank you, in advance, for your participation.
Respects,
Joe

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of James McCauley, Thanks for being our hero. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

24 Jan 2008 6:20 PM Alert
   Another blustery, January morning today as I journeyed to Weston, WV to pay Honor and Respect to yet another Veteran of the Vietnam conflict.   Knowing Barry had last minute work restrictions that forced him to step away, I was hoping for a respectable turnout of members but, unfortunately, was met by noone else.  However, in the tradition of the PGR, I fully believe having one flag is better than having none, so I made my way to the funeral home to take my position and welcome those coming to pay their last respects to James.

   Initially, I must have seemed a "curious sight" to those who were arriving but most all of them looked me in the eye and said a quite "Thank You".  That proved what I knew all along; we truly DO make a difference.

   I was given the extreme honor of leading James to his final rest in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown and did this with pride!  I was also met at the cemetery by WV RC John Schwartz and we both led the procession to the service site.  In a very emotional moment for me, I presented our plaque to James' wife, Linda, prior to military rites being performed by members of the VFW, Grafton, WV post.  My hat is off those all those Heroes from past conflicts for braving the elements to stand for another of their own.  Thank you gentlemen!

   Stand at ease James.  Your battle and tour of duty are now complete.  May you now have the eternal rest that you earned on the battlefield many, many years ago.  God Speed James.
Respects,
Joe
