To the Family of Cpt. McGovern,

My name is Christina Penrod and I lost my husband Aug 11, 2007 in Iraq. I do know what you are going through and I am sorry for your loss. I also know that you will get sick of the word " sorry ". Even three months later it is starting to get easier so time does heal a broken heart and its not going to heal quick. Here is a poem one of my friends wrote for my husbands funeral

Last night while I sat crying. Your distant voice I did hear, I opened my eyes and looked around but you did not appear.
You said " you have got to listen, You've got to understand, God did not take me from you, He only took my hand.
I did not feel pain that day, The instant that I died. He reached down and took my hand, And pulled me to his side.
He pulled me up and saved me from the misery and pain; My body was hurt so badly inside, I could never be the same.
My search is really over now, I've found happiness within, All the answeres to my dreams And all that might have been.
I love you and miss you so, And I'll always be nearby. My body's gone forever but my spirit will never die.
I will see you as you grow older, And watch your life from above. Remember I am with you, You will always have my love.
And so you must go now, Live one day at a time. Just undertand- God did not take me from you He only took my hand.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero who stood tall for his homeland in this very sad time in your lives, but remember that you knew a hero first hand while the rest of us just get to hear about their heroic deeds. My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a dept that can never be repaid. But please know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. Know that it says in the Bible in 2nd Corinthians 5:8 , we are confident I say , willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the LORD. No one can ever say that your loved one isn't a HERO, they were willing to serve that the rest of us may enjoy the freedom we do today, and the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. May GOD Bless each and everyone of you.
