SGT Olguin,

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.

Thank you, Sgt. Randell Olguin for your service to this Nation. It is because of Patriots such as you that I, my family, and the rest of this great Nation are able to lead the lives we do. It is the soldier that gives us freedom, not the politicians. Only two people ever died for our freedoms. One was Jesus Christ and the other was the American Soldier. The least I can do is pay homage and respect to this Hero and his family.
To the family of this American Hero: We as a Nation grieve with you in the loss of one of our Nation’s best. His adherence to “Duty to God and Country” will not be forgotten. Death is a time to rejoice in the life someone had and the lives they touched on this earth. Life is but a blink of an eye. May the Great Architect take this Hero and his family into his council, protect and heal them.

You don't have to love war, but you do have to love the Warrior!

The sound of 200 people holding flags -- is deafening.

My name is Jose Gabriel Olguin. My friends call me Joey, so please refer to me as Joey, lol. We may not know eachother, but I consider all of you frineds of mine as well as friends of my family. Randell(Randy) Olguin was my younger and only brother and I just wanted to thank everybody who has posted on here. I am glad there are people in this world like each and everyone of ya'll. When I found out my brother died, all that I wanted was for his story to be told and for him to be just another name on a list of soldiers who have died giving us the freedom to do one of the rights we are all doing now. Freedom of speech. Even though my brother didn't like the things he had to do in Iraq, he believed what he was doing it for. He was and is a good man and I only wish that everyone in this world would have gotten a chance to meet him. I also wish that one day that I become even half the man he is. Thank you from the bottom of me and my family's heart for everything everyone one on here has said. It means everything to us that each of you would take the time to recognize him and thanks to all of you, his story is being told exactly the way it should. Thanks again, and I want to say thank you to all the soldiers fighting for our freedom. I also want to thank all the families of the soldiers that have died protecting our freedom. I never thought I would ever have to say this, but I know the hurt all of you are going through and I wish I could say that the pain will go away after time, but I can't at this moment because I am still going through all of it. I am sorry this post so long, but I would like to say one last thing. I am begging all of you to let everyone you hold dear in your life know that you love them and to hold them as much as you can cause in an instant they can be taken away from you. Randy....I know you are looking down on us right now and reading and listening to every word we speak,I just want you to know that we love you so much and we will forever cherish all the joy and happiness you brought in our lives. You died way to young, we talked about growing old together and all the hopes and dreams we had. Even though you are gone, I can't wait till the day we are reunited. I love you!!!

Joey, I want to offer my deepest and sincere condolences for your loss.  I want to let you know how much your brother's service to his country is appreciated!  I had the pleasure to exchange emails with his wife earlier today.  I left a message on the "Stryker Brigade" website my son is also in Iraq and he is with the 3/2 SCR.  She read my posting and went to the PGR website and was very impressed with what the PGR does and was sure he would want us to be there.  She gave me your Dad's number and I had the pleasure of speaking with him as well.

I have been blessed today to talk with 3 of Randy's family members!  You have a wonderful family and I wish only the best for you and yours.  May the pain slip away and be with the memories of good times.  Your brother is a Hero and he stood for what he believed in!

As you know, your brothers and sisters in the PGR stand by your side and we are here to support you in this time of need.  May you find peace in honoring your brother!

God Bless!
