Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. I am proud to say that i am one of the few that got to know Spc. Penrod as a soldier. I can honestly say that he was one of the best i've ever served beside. He knew when to be the joker, when to be serious, but most of all, he was humble. He never forgot who he was or where he came from. It was an honor to serve beside you brother! Rest now, but know you won't be forgoten, you have made me a better person for knowing you. Thank You!!! Sgt. Piper

Dear Spc. Penrod, we thank you for your brave service to our nation, defending freedom and promoting a secure future for our children. You have given the greatest gift you had to offer. To the family, our thoughts are with you; our prayers are for you. Your loved one joins a special group of men and women, a group our nephew joined a year ago. The pain is great, but our pride for these men and women can not be surpassed. They will eternally be our heroes. May the spirit of strength your loved one possessed surround you and may you find peace.

Thank you for the mission you gave to your life in protecting our freedoms, and striving to give others, theirs. The lives of you and the men and women who have gone before you are raised high, and not given in vain. I honor you, and pray that our children will learn to do the same throughout coming generations. God bless your family, and may they keep their memories alive and rejoice in the life of a hero.

Remembering my nephew and Godchild, LCpl. Matthew Snyder, KIA Iraq 3/3/06
